Hello Everyone. I had to cancel my gig last night because the D and G# Keys did not work. Does anyone know what the problem could be, and how it can be fixed? Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

Hi @Pianoman

First, if your keyboard is in warranty period, then you better go to an Yamaha dealer (your one from which you bought the keyboard) and ask him to replace the rubbers for those octaves where the keys does not work. (Personally, I would change them all).

If the keyboard is not anymore in warranty, then try to open it and check for the rubbers. You can also try changing from one octave to another to see if this is the problem. They could be broken, you may see them carefully.

Check them.

Greetings,
Vali

Thanks for your quick response Vallmaties.

It's the D and G# keys in all the octaves, meaning the entire keyboard. I've tried a soft reset at least 6 times and the problem still won't go away. I wonder if a Factory reset, or removing the USB pen drive might help.

Has anyone else experienced this problem, or have any suggestions regarding removal of the USB stick or doing a hard reset?

On which video you play the Genos1 or Genos2 ?

Your question is for keys on the Genos 1 and the Genos 2 ?

I see now, all D-s and G#-s ...  :o
I don't think there is a bond to the USB, it make no sense.
Seems more a motherboard problem or the keyboard's board problem, maybe in soldered pins.
Did you open a ticket to Yamaha? Maybe a call is better in your situation, is quickest solution.

I'm sorry to hear that!

Hope you find the solution fast, I bet a quick call to Yamaha will help you!

Regards,
Vali

Hello Egbertus.

It is the Genos 1.
All D and G# notes across the keyboard don't work. It becomes very difficult for the accompaniment to follow. Any chord that includes those notes goes crazy. I have removed the USB underneath  out of desperation and it appears be working now,so far.

I didn't see your post before because I have been out all day trying to find a technician or a replacement Genos.

Thanks for your response. Much appreciated.

What?! That make no sense! This is definitely a BIG bug.
Even so, you have to make some tests! Try this TEST !
