Hi Guys,

Has anyone had any luck connecting Genos to Songbook+ thru Wifi? I followed the instructions in the new How To Connect Manual for Genos. The MIDI signal indicator is flashing and if I check, it says it is connected. When I try to link a registration with a song, using the "Now Link This Song method, I keep getting an error message stating it could not connect.
Do any of you guys know what I need to check, too get this working?

Thanks in advance,
Rick D.

The midi signal does not go through WiFi. It goes through the midi ports (A and B).

You. can connect wirelessly, but you need a midi to Bluetooth converter. I use a Yamaha BT01.

Hi Fred,
After I posted this, I was able to get it working.
It did not work when I tried to hook it up thru WIFI using the Genos WIFI as a host. I switched it to my own WIFI and change the IP to match that in Songbook, and it works great.
I did watch your video on hooking it to the Tyros 4, but it seems Yamaha has made the process a lot easier now.
Thanks for all your help, you are an asset to this group!

Fred,

It just dawned on me, what your last post said.
You only need the Yamaha BT01's, if you want to connect with Bluetooth, not for WIFI.Yamaha BT01.
The WIFI works with no need to by anything.

Really? Now that's useful information.

I'm assuming you're using the SongBook "Now link the song" operation, right?

Yes, Fred, that is how you link them. So much easier then the way we had to do them on the a Tyros.
I did about 100 songs in 5 minutes.

I wanted to try to do it this way, so I could keep my iPad charging when I use it.

Just a side note. You have to restart MIDI every time you turn on Genos.
