Those type of demo's are useless to most of us who speak English.

I've never understood why the people that make these videos don't include English subtitles. It would increase the audience and potential revenue from YouTube.
Current: Korg PA900/JBL 308P/Focusrite Clarett 2Pre/Band in a Box/Reaper/EZdrummer 3. Previously Owned: Yamaha PSR-740/Yamaha PSR-1100/Yamaha PSR-S750.

Have not seen any answers from the original poster. Did the keyboard not turn up.

Frank has probably NOT received the sx900 yet... or he is getting familiar with it. He's had a lot of requests here, so he has his work cut out for himself. It takes time to make videos. We don't know what he has in mind, so we all will just have to be patient.

As we already understand a lot and have experience with yamaha, it is easy to understand based on what it is showing. Of course you can not understand everything, but when I see the function being performed, I understand what is being done. I also wonder people who don't speak English and need to understand what is being said. Of course, English today is a universal language, but not everyone has knowledge of the language.

So Yamaha is sending me a pre-production version of the SX-900 to try out and make some videos.

Does anyone have any specific things they want me to try out?

Without wanting to make any kind of requirement / pressure:
Any news?

Hi Eileen,

Are you going to your local dealer within the next few days to try out the PSR SX900?

If so, please be as kind as to share your impressions with us.

Hi Frank,

I'm interested in three things.

1. Is the SX key-bed better than the S970/975... if so how is it better?

2. When saving Live Control settings in a registration... are the specific parameter values set by the knobs saved in a registration?
(I'm particularly interested in Arp Gate Time and Arp Velocity).

3. What expansion packs come preinstalled in the US version of the SX900

I suggest you try saving the 2 Live Control settings (at the same time) one way; then a different way with the same Voice and arpeggio and listen to the sound when you switch registrations. If the arp changes then the answer to #2 is yes.

Thanks in advance,
Jo
Hi Joe H. What you asked in this post I simulated on the SX900. It worked smoothly. The changes in the live knobs for Arp.Gate and Arp.Velocity were exactly stored in the Memory and then displayed flawlessly. Just wanted to let you know. For the rest see my short impression in the other post.
My best regards,
Ton

That is what I was hoping for. I will use that feature a whole lot.  That was a shortcoming of the S970. It appears that the sx900 has the same OS as the Genos.

I read your other post as well.  I like all the upgrades and improvements of the sx900.  I'll be making plans to buy one a little later on.

Question: If there are 4 expansion packs preinstalled, does the sx900 still have 1GB of usable expansion memory? I think the 4GB of User Drive is added to allow audio recording directly to the on-board User Drive rather than to a USB stick.
