Right voice 3 lost when selecting other right voice(es)

Hello all,

I've very recently purchased a Genos 2, having taken the jump from a Tyros 1.

Apologies for the simple question I'm sure will have many rolling their eyes - I have scoured the user manual, and clicked through most menu options and choices I think relevent.

When I have right 3 voice selected, I can play the upper split with that voice, but selecting either right 1, right 2 or both of these will stop right 3 from playing.

If someone (when they've finishing laughing 😂) could point me in the direction of a fix, I'd really appreciate it.

Many thanks in advance,

Kev

hi Kev,
I think that the right point to solution is in the split point settings. And I'm not laughing at all, because split point settings can be quite confusing.

Hi and thank you for the timely reply.

You may not be laughing, but I'm rolling my eyes 🙄.

I'd checked the split point to see if there were multiple splits, but had no idea about the right 3 seeing.

Many thanks again, from a long time lurker, turned recent adoptee 👍

Maybe an advice to easier understand how split point settings work: First turn on all four voices (L,R1,R2,R3) and then change Style, Left and Right3 split points accordingly.
Btw. notes between Left and Right3 define R1+R2 range.

Just move your split point one note down.

Ok, still confused, sorry 😕
Style is F2
Left is F2
Right 3 is F#2
Chord Detection is Lower
Clicking all three parts active only plays R2 & R3 - R1 does not play.
The registration is from a T1, but I've tried editing/selecting a different voice, still nada.

Any more pointers would be gratefully received.

Thank you 😬🫣

Hello,

Press "Direct Access" then the "ACMP" key, the spit page appears.

Holding the R3 button on the Top Right screen ... press a key on the keyboard for the desired Split just 1/2 tone above the Spit of the Style/Left or Left, turn on the 4 voices, you should see above the R3 button on the screen "r1+r2+r3"
With this setting, you'll hear all 3 voices, including the harmonizer.

To separate the R3, simply press R3 on the display and a desired key on the keyboard, between the current spit point in the Right hand zone...

Spit can be blocked > Page Utility > Parameters LOCK > SPLIT checked.

I hope I've made some progress! More information in the manual ...

Hi there,

Done exactly as you suggested, still no voice on part R1

Also, after having chosen this registration, changing to another style or even powering off and back on again, I still have no R1 voice.

Thanks again,

Hello,

It's simple ... your registration, which comes from the T1, is DEFECTIVE => POUBELLE ... to be completely redone!

Beware of registrations that come from too far away in this type of device, I won't play with them too much!

If you want to mess with MIDI and all the other internal parameters, that's your choice... I won't push it any further...

As soon as a Style, Record, Voice or Song causes a problem/beug ... complete deletion with everything attached! Too many differences between the two devices/registrations ...

Sounds like your registration is setting the R1 voice volume to zero. Just set it to the volume you want.

Hi Fred and thank you for the reply.

I've looked around the voice options, volume etc and can't see anything untoward.

I'd have thought that selecting a preset registration would also have brought good voices with different volumes?

I think I'm in agreement with Patt22.

After a quick system reset option, all the voice parts are again available and work correctly with the chosen (and unchanged) split point. Choose a T1 registration and bye bye voice part.

Oh well, rebuild registrations time.

Thanks to all who replied with ideas.
I hope to be able to offer ideas to help others at some point  ::)

Post your registration so we can have a look at it. We can tell you what's wrong with it.

If the channel is empty, it may be that this T1 has had an external sound module, keyboard or VST connected and entered your registration ... you need to check the MIDI status on this registration.

From what I've read on the G2, it's possible to record a MIDI state in each registration if you wish, not on the G1! A bit of a mess if you haven't mastered this option.

Thanks again all.

It would be a crime not to redo the registrations again to take full advantage of the styles and voices of the G2.

And also a great excuse to get to know the beast better  ;D
