How to add other mics and guitar to GNS-MS01

Currently I'm hooking my Genos with the MS01 when playing or practicing by myself. When playing with my friends as a small band, I would send everything to my Zoom L12 mixer and output to a pair of Bose L1s. Sometimes I'm playing with my wife who plays a plug-in acoustic guitar and sings, so I wonder if anyone has tried to add additional mics and other instrument like a guitar to the mixer and bring everything back to the Genos then out to the GNS MS01? If so can you share your setup and also your experience with your setup? I've tried to hook it up that way but it seems like the Genos sound is going in a loop and is very loud comparing to the mics and the guitar.
Thanks in advance.

Hi there

Your question piqued my interest. I asked myself why would someone want to do this?

- MSO1 has one input - a DIN socket that connects your keyboard.
- Genos 2 has a mic input and several outputs and we can record MIDI and WAV directly. There is also a connection for your PC.
- Zoom LiveTrak 12 is a 12 -channel digital mixer that also records (pre-EQ and effects) to an SD card.
- Bose L1 (there are several models from 8-32) with two combo XLR-1/4" phantom-powered inputs, 1/4" and 1/8" (3.5 mm) aux inputs, plus Bluetooth streaming capability.
- Genos 2 also has Bluetooth connectivity.

It would seem... (a British English phrase means, 'I don't know for certain') that you have many options for producing an excellent sound. Both of your sound systems are very portable.

So, it would seem that you want to use the onboard Genos DSP for other inputs or giving a practical example - you would like to use the vocal DSP effects feature with more than one mic? Perhaps when we identify what you are trying to achieve others can join-in with options.

Thanks for looking into this and sharing your thought. I know that I can hook it up the conventional way with the mixer and the bose speakers, but perhaps I just want to play around, push the envelope and see what else I can do with the Genos 1 and the MS01... Another factor is that most of the time I keep my Bose L1m2 in a different room, so perhaps that's the reason why I want to see if I can hook this up the way I described in my post earlier.
It's totally fine if it's impossible to achieve this. At least I know I've tried and didn't leave anything out. Thanks again.

You are more than welcome. I'm always reminded of Global Moderator, Overover (Chris), whose page footer states:

● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)"

This is certainly a good maxim (observing the necessary safeguards -in your case , impedance).  I was also thinking about your loud volume issue. You might find some more "envelope" pushers on Sound Design where people get answers to questions like this:

Is there a significant difference in sound quality between 1/4" jacks and XLR inputs for microphones?

BTW, Years ago  I bought a very cheap foot stomp pedal for my girl singer so she could switch off my PA 12 mixer effects. It had the wrong polarity so I just took off the cover, unsoldered the wires , reversed the connections and resoldered. Some pedals have a polarity switch.

Anyway, I have to make a start on painting 9 doors in this old house - too much to do to ever get bored. ;D  ;D
