Hello all.  Does anyone know if Yamaha or anyone else ever travels to various cities on occasion to give in-person training for the Genos?  You know, like where you pay a fee and they are in town for a 1 or 2 day seminar?
Thank you.
Chris

PS About a year ago, I was unable to get into this forum and I heard that do to some server or windows update or something, it could no longer be used.  I was so bummed out.  I sure am happy to be able to log back into it now.  I guess they fixed it?

The forum is certainly "fixed" and is going from strength to strength. Check Alex Mercer's updates for detailed information.

Yamaha, most likely, will operate in different ways in different countries.  Relating this to my own experience in the UK may not be appropriate to how they operate in Georgia, USA. However, if we use YouTube as an example, there are examples from France and the Netherlands that have clearly been hosted by a Yamaha dealer. The sessions are free. This has been the model in the UK from as far as I can remember in three different counties where I was based. In addition, if there is a strong local group of enthusiasts or even an individual who can put on events, then a Yamaha demonstrator is invited along for some sessions. For a single event there is often no charge especially if the organisers are being sponsored by a dealer, or it is a promotional activity for Yamaha. Events planned over a few days that have a residential element are usually not free.

Check with your library service. They often have a community information database that lists local clubs and societies for example. Chambers of Commerce or Rotary clubs are also sources of information about an area.

There are also some tutorials on YouTube – some done by enthusiasts like members of this forum and others by Yamaha dealerships.
People on this forum are very helpful and supportive. If you have a specific query post it here. Please ensure that you give the right amount of detail.

In addition to Sam's recommendation, I too like YouTube channels for Genos and SX Keyboard Academy is one of my favorites with Guets are not allowed to view links. In order to access the links, please Register or Login. Of course there are many more including forum member Casper's YouTube Channel.

Unfortunately their just isn't too many in person visits by Yamaha, and none that I know of for a seminar. So yea, it's You Tube for the next best alternative, or simply inquire here on PSR Tutorial for friendly help.

I don't know where you live, but some of the top dealers may be a better source for this than Yamaha. I have never heard of Yamaha doing what you seem to want. They have demonstrators, and of course they might help with tips or answering questions, but it's not really one to one for more than a few minutes, and their job is to help sell keyboards, not teach. But some of top dealers all have knowledgeable players, and some of them offer music classes.

Hello Chris

If you are in Atlanta, Georgia area there are forum members that live in Florida that might invite you down to spend a weekend demoing what you can do with your keyboard.

I live in Cincinnati about 7 hours away.
