Hello everybody,

I've ordered a PSR-SX900 this morning : my first arranger keyboard after more than a 10-year break on playing and composing music.

Here is the list of my previous keyboards, including the purchase date : Arp Omni (1978 !!!), Korg MS20 (1981), Yamaha MK100 (1984), Yamaha DX21 (1987), Gem Workstation WS2 (1991), Yamaha MM6 (2007), Studiologic VMK88 + Pianoteq 2 + Magix Samplitude (2007)

and now the SX900, almost 14 years after my last keyboard ! Nice to come back to music !!!

I've discovered this forum (well, "gold mine" would be a better name) last week, when I was googling to find the right keyboard that would fit my wishlist. So, why the SX900 ? Well, I've always liked the ease-of-use of Yamaha keyboards (the MK100 was an unbelivable little beast at its time). I know that the Genos has more flexibility (and maybe some better sounds) but having a pair of hi-quality integrated speakers, is mandatory for me. By reading tutos and watching YouTube, it's just like I already know this SX900 keyboard, without having ever put my hands on it. Even the most hidden menu item is explained somewhere online. Really awesome, the level of info you can get today.

So, now just wait for the delivery and I'll be back soon with some questions ;-)

Best regards,
scirocco

Scirocco - the wind or the car? LOL
Welcome to the forum. Bordeaux eh - hope you have plenty of room, we're all coming to visit. That's a slip, meant to say hope you have plenty of wine, we're all coming to visit  ;D

yes, "scirocco" like the breeze, indeed... ;)

No problem to find some room to welcome everybody at home (the vineyards are just a few steps away). The problem is the wine: during the lockdown in march-april-may (9 weeks in France), a lot of my wine bottles mysteriously disappeared from my cellar and reappeared (totally emptied) in my dining room, a couple of hours later. Very strange phenomenon, don't you think so ;)

Thanks for all these numerous infos, Roger. I'm quite experienced with arranger keyboards, midi and audio recording, and stuff like that, but I'm pretty sure that new keyboard means new questions, especially after 10 years without practice. So it's nice that such a forum exists to share knowledge among PSR fans. I haven't explored yet all the data that are made available here, but surely I will do.

Regards,
scirocco
