I downloaded a trial or demo copy of FL Studio a while back to see if I could help someone on another forum figure out how to do something they were having trouble with, and I couldn't figure out how to do certain basic things in FL Studio that I like to do all the time (with ease) in other DAWs, specifically with regard to playing virtual instruments "live" using a MIDI keyboard controller, creating splits and layers, etc.

I know that FL Studio is well-liked by a lot of people, and that different DAWs can have learning curves due to the different ways that they do things, but so far my impression of FL Studio is that it isn't my cup of tea.

I realize that doesn't help you, but I guess what I'm saying is that I would recommend using a different DAW-- although that's just my opinion, and I might simply need to spend more quality time becoming familiarized with FL Studio.

Norman try to search in youtube for a tutorial for the specific problem you facing.
Took me months to learn basic things in there and how it works.
There are so many thing it can do but it is a pretty hard DAW to learn as SeaGtGruff said.

Normanfernandez

I did follow a lot YouTube Videos.
Got nowhere.
Trying to use VST like Kontatk, which I started today. It doesn't seem to be working the way I want it to.

I think the Basics are okay with me.
I'm learning pretty fast.
Just having some hiccups now and then.

For E.g ( Real guitar VST)
I managed to install it perfectly.
I can't create a Strumming pattern.

https://youtu.be/jfYbE7bBSnI
I followed his steps
And I couldn't get to the Stroke Map on the Guitar VST

I'll try again tomorrow on (Piano Roll)
Hope I get it.

This is not a problem how the Fl studio works but rather how that "RealGuitar" vst works.
From what I understand he adds some extra notes on piano roll wich those extra notes go to a specefic note to create the "stroke" effect.

He has allready added the notes on piano roll and then explains what he is doing.
I think it would be more helpful to see (and hear) how he adds the notes or ready made  patterns one by one.

Anyway,
the upper row with notes seems to be the riff
and the lower row seems to be the extra/specific notes that create the stroke effect.

Normanfernandez

I've tried to install 3 plugins

All had the same Problem / Error

Cannot find any Instrumental.

I've copied the  .DLL FILE To FL STUDIO Plug ins folder.
The VST came with .Mse
I've researched on Google but I don't have any Solution.
Can you guys please help ??
Thank you!

VST are basically Plug ins ( Instruments)
Like what we have on the keyboard.

Good VSTs are better than S.Art voices

Virtual Studio Technology (VST) is an audio plug-in software interface that integrates software synthesizer and effects in digital audio workstations. VST and similar technologies use digital signal processing to simulate traditional recording studio hardware in software.

How many bits is your computer and OS?

How many bits is FL Studio?

How many bits are the plug-ins that aren't showing up?

Normanfernandez

The good news is
The PIANO VST Plug In
Worked when I switched on the PC today

I believe the Other VST is 32 Bit
And I have a 64 bit PC.

If one of the plug-ins is showing up now, it might be that you just needed to let FL Studio scan the plug-in folder so it would recognize that there were new plug-ins available.

Normanfernandez

Thanks!
I've solved my Plug in problem.
I just copied the Entire Folder to the Plug in Folder for VST.

It's not too hard to do stuff on FL STUDIO.
If you guys have any questions
Put it here
We'll sort it out

I'm glad you got them working, Norman!

After reading your solution, then reading back over your previous posts, I'm guessing that the plug-ins had come with their own installation programs, which you ran, then you copied (just) the DLL files for the plug-ins into FL Studio's plug-ins folder.

If that's what happened, then the plug-ins probably couldn't find other files that they needed for their virtual instruments, and copying or moving the entire plug-in folders from where they'd been installed to FL Studio's plug-ins folder allowed them to find everything they needed and work as intended.

If the plug-ins' installation programs had a screen that let you either use a default installation location or else use a location of your own choosing, it would have been best to choose FL Studio's plug-ins folder as the destination-- unless you have multiple DAWs or plug-in hosts that you'd like to use the plug-ins with.

In that case, it would be better to let the plug-ins be installed to their default locations, then add the directory paths for the plug-ins to each DAW's list of plug-in folders to scan. That way each DAW can find the plug-ins in their default locations, and the plug-ins will likewise be able to find all of their files in their expected locations.

Anyway, now that you've got everything sorted you can start enjoying those plug-ins. :)

I was really Happy to get the Plug In's Running,

But i Always knew I'd have a problem with the MIDI Section

I Connected my 770 Via the USB To Host,

It did play notes on FL Studio
Velocity worked fine ish

Problems i had

Sustain Button wasn't working
The P.bend and Modulation Wheel Too , Latency Issue.

The Concept of Midi Channels is Becoming Sightly Clear,
I Used R Hand 1 as Channel 1

Although having Rogers MIDI Book it's still hard to Understand..

If any of you guys have a Issue With the Other Section Of FL Studio Do Post it Here,

You could help me with Midi, and I'll have your back with the other stuff as i can learn and do things fast :)

For latency problems use the Asio4all audio driver when you play your keyboard.
Keep the sound quality up so much as you don't have latency.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIotI9g1D6c
http://www.asio4all.org/

When you don't use your keyboard, change to the normal audio driver of your pc for better sound.

Normanfernandez

I did install Aiso4all quite a while ago.

I'll have to follow this video well
And learn how to use the settings.
Thanks!!
