In a midi file, I would like to extract a few bars from a certain channel to create a PAD. The same channel needs to be captured after the song has elapsed for the creating another PAD. These are basically in between music pieces that I want include in my overall arrangement.
By playing the midi using Mixmaster or stylemagic, is it possible to re-record portions of it by toggling a record/pause feature on a PSR s970 ?
I have tried using Padmakermidi, I think it's the zoom feature to view bars and areas far down the timeline possess a usability challenge to me.
Thanks

You can't record in either MixMaster or StyleMagic but what you can do is edit notes and delete the bars you don't want and save the remaining  bars as a new MIDI file then load it into PadMaker-Midi to convert to a Multi Pad.

Thanks Joe. Will try that out...

A little trick I use in StyleMagic is to find the bars in the MIDI that you want to use and temporarily insert a Main Section Marker at the first bar and an End_Sec Marker at the last bar you wish to use.  This way it will loop so you can hear how it sounds.  I believe there is also a Loop function in MixMaster as well.
