Hi Everybody I hope you are all well. I had a random question pop in to my head today whilst in the bath lol the strangest of places. I was wondering if voices you get in Midi Files on different channels can be stored individually as saved voices as you would do traditionally. The reason I ask is because sometimes the way they've been modified with all the different parameters etc it would be cool to be able to save a voice channel as a favourite voice. I have a PSR S710 in case this is a possibility. Thankyou very much.

I have no idea whether the keyboard has a simple function that lets you save the voice setup for a particular MIDI song channel, but you should be able to do it with a MIDI editor such as MixMaster.

Load the MIDI song file into the editor. Display the event list. Filter out any channels you are not interested in. Filter out any MIDI event types that are not related to selecting and setting up a voice and effects, such as Note On/Off events. Select and copy all of the visible events. Create a new file and paste the copied events into it. Edit the events as needed or desired, such as moving the events to a different channel. Then save the file. I believe the generic file name extension for a Yamaha voice file is VCE.

You can then load the voice into your keyboard to see how it sounds, and tweak it as desired.

You might be able to do all of that on the keyboard by deleting all irrelevant channels and events in the Song Creator.
