Hi all,

New PSR SX920 should be with me just after Christmas. I have bought a Yamaha KS-SW100 subwoofer after I spoke with the piano store specialist who advised that it makes a nice difference.

Where would be the best place to site/locate the sub relative to the keyboard please?

Thanks
Steve

Having worked many years in the speaker manufacturing business (Hi-Fi Not PA).
A well designed Sub-Bass unit should produce very low Bass Frequencies.

My advice is never place near a room corner and a min foot from any wall.
I obtained best results placing the cabinet on a garden slab to isolate it from the floor.
Even lifting a few inches can help.

You are after a low tight Bass not bass Boom...More of a feel than sound.
Don't be frightened of experimenting.

I use a Peavey Kb100 piano amp that I bought years ago.   I tried it in a few places and finally ended up placing it just to the left rear of where I sit about 3 feet from my seat.  After plugging it in to my      PSR Sx920,   I balanced it out with the piano speakers.  For my "ear", it sounds pretty good. Gives me some nice lows/bass. If you plan on singing while you play, the amp  adds to the  sound.  I'm not a performer, just play and sing for my own enjoyment and the speaker location works quite well for me.

Each room/location will be different.  Gotta figure out what works for your location.

Thank you for your reply and advice. I do plan to sing along (alone-my singing is terrible) and this is primarily why I chose an arranger keyboard which has Bluetooth Audio. So hopefully as I progress (can't play at the moment) I can use the lyrics that can be accessed on the LCD panel.I Guess I will put the sub on the floor quite close to the keyboard, depending on the length of the power cable....

Merry xmas
