G1 to np31

I wonder if some one could help  has anyone got a tutorial or diagram of how to connect a G1 and NP31 so i can use the lower keyboard with G1 sounds ive tried everything.

I used a Twinset for many years, a Tyros + MP30. With both boards containing Midi-In-Out, no extra electronics needed buying.
Why oh why did they stop using Midi Ports ?.
I found the Twinset a joy to play plus the benefit being the upper can be split into 3+ voice zones.

If my aging brain remembers I used only one Midi Lead...Lower Out to Upper In.
Then in menu you alter midi settings ?

Try search Graham UK Twinset Tyros and NP30. My instructions are floating up in the clouds somewhere.

Hi @Whitecolin11,

I recommend that you first proceed as follows:

- Connect the NP-31 MIDI OUT to the Genos MIDI B IN using a DIN MIDI cable.

- Make sure that one of the Preset MIDI templates "All Parts" or "KBD & Style" is activated on the Genos.

- Make sure that the MIDI Transmit Channel 1 on the NP-31 is set (= default).

It is best to set the "Program Change" parameter to OFF in the NP-31 MIDI Settings. See the "MIDI Functions" section in the NP-31 user manual.

Now you should be able to play the Genos via the NP-31 keyboard exactly as you would with the internal Genos keyboard.

If you only want to control only one specific keyboard part of the Genos with the NP-31 (e.g. Right 3), please contact us again here and describe as precisely as possible what you want to achieve.
