Hello,
As a singer I appreciate well made back up karaoke tracks.
For a while I didn't play and just used karaoke files but the singer ends up baking the music instead of the music backing the singer.

Some of the styles posted here inspired me to play again.

The genos has good voices but I wanted to compare them to a real live instrument.
A few weeks ago I booked a real sax player to perform with me.

Without any practice, this is how we sounded.  Your opinion is appreciated

Well, the sax player didn't step on your voices, so he knew what he was doing.

I thought the style you used needed to be turned up louder.

About half the way through the video the main you used did not match what you were singing. The horns riffs should not be blasting out over your lyrics. That's the best way I can explain it. To fix it you would need to lengthen the mains measure and record your own horn riffs into the style. Easier way would to just play the horn riffs yourself when you are not singing lyrics.

The best way to get everything balanced is to simple record yourself using the keyboard's WAV recorder. Play it back, listen to it and then readjust the backing style's volume. Then adjust the right hand voices to the style. When you are comping with the piano, it should blend in with the style. However when your right hand is playing a solo, it should be loader than the style.

That's how I go about sitting up the styles to match my vocals.

Of course nothing beats the real instrument.
However, it can come pretty close when played correctly.
You have to think like a saxophone player and use super articulation as well as pitch bend, which can be put on a pedal.
Woody does a decent emulation.

Of course most of your audience won't care or won't know the difference.
It's us who are most critical.
Just have fun with it and your audience will too.
