Hello Friends!

Lately I am amazed by organ music. While we have a lovely sounds on our Genos 2 I tried to play some organ pieces. But because I didn't have a complex knowledge about layering organ voices, I have found some really useful videos about it on YouTube.

Four families of organ sounds

So, I tried some experimentation on Genos 2 to assign organ voices to work well with them togehter. I will experiment more, but I see that there is a lack of "single organ voices" to mixture them together manually. I saw that there are some expansion packs on the market to buy some of these to be able to have more control which "bars" of organ sound are active. Have you tried these expansion packs? Could someone tell me which will be the best to try on, with the best sound quality and possibilites?

I am also attaching my experimental registration bank from my Genos 2 with organ sounds. Feel free to try it:

Many years ago, I used to play pipe organs. I even married someone who majored in church organ performance in college. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to an organ to play, so I play on either My Genos2 or my MODX+. There are some decent pipe organ sounds on the Genos2, but you can do better.

If you go to the synthonia.com web site, look for sounds for XYAMAHA and then pick Genos/PSR/Tyros sounds.

There is a newly added instrument pack called Italian Cathedral Organ. There is another called Romantic Cathedral Organ and yet another called Baroque Cathedral Organ VI. Each of these organ packs consists of 11 voices ranging from simple to complex. If you decide to purchase, be sure to select the one for Genos/Genos2. You can listen to each of the voices.

I do not have either of these newer packs, but I did purchase the older Pipe and Church Organs Pack which has 122 voices including individual stops as well as complex layerings. For me, it was well worth the money.

Hello!!

I always liked many of the organ setups/voices in the ensemble category. Many of the other instrumental voices are nice too among those ensembles. I always forget about them.  I've always thought those ensembles have been under-rated. I don't recall any excitement when they are mentioned. I have always liked them since their introduction. -charley
