Quickly (1 button) select R1, R2, R3 sounds (from T5 -> G2)

Hi
Migration from Tyros 5 to Genos 2 (no experience on Genos 1 or SX series arrangers).

I used to quickly change from one "RIGHT" sound (1,2,3) to another using the appropriate buttons (F, G  & H) on the right of the screen.
This was a huge part of my live performance since I was able to instantly change sounds and enhance my live performance.

Yesterday I receive my G2 and I realize that there is no way (? ? ?) to do the same...
The only way is to push the "R" button of the sound I like to select and THEN... to push the "R" button of the sound already selected. For example If I play with "R2" sound and I like to instantly select the "R1" sound there is no way... I have to push "R1" and then "R2" in order to "deselect" the "R2" sound otherwise, sounds "R1" & "R2" will sound simultaneously.

This is a huge disadvantage for me... I have now to press 2 buttons and in most cases I realize that it is literally impossible to do this on time, especial on quick changes between music phrases. 9 times out of 10 I try, for a few notes of the music phrase both sounds are sounding.. it is impossible to do it quickly enough..
On screen change is worst since 9 time out of 10 I miss the "virtual button" and the result is the same (two sounds together for a few notes, instead of one...)

So I ask experienced G1 and SX users, Is there a way to do what I'm looking for ? ? ?

Please note that registration is not a solution since I use one bank of registration for more than 80% of my live performance and I don't like to change registration banks.
Furthermore with registration you go blind, you have to remember what sound is saved on every registration button. In my case for the last 20 years I always think registration buttons as "styles selection buttons", I use 8 styles on a predetermined tempo and this is enough for 80% of my live performance.
Custom OTS is another solution but also you go blind, you don't have a representation on-screen to help you. You have to remember what sound you store on every OTS button

G1 and SX experienced users: How do you handle this situation?

Hi Danand, just use voice part menu and with the touch screen you can easily change the right hand voices, the left hand also and all the effects! Just select the voices on the touch screen! Hope it'll works for you; congratulation for your new G2; all the best Patrick

Patric thank you for your answer.
You can consider this as a "solution" but far, far, away from what I'm looking for....
What you suggest is a way to change the sound, but scrolling around 100's of sound screens in order to find what are you looking for is not a viable solution...

I have already the three sounds I want to use on R1, R2 and R3.
What I'm looking for is instantly switch from one "R sound" to another without press 2 buttons, and without the two sounds sounding together even for a single note.

I agree with you on the surprise element of registrations or OTS. No one can remember them all, so people using them have become very organized with lead sheets made out in advance and marked up for every song.  For many experienced gig performers that is too regimented, and doesn't allow enough flexibility or on the fly selection. Especially if they play by ear and can easily respond to requests or have a very fluid approach to the set list.
You could consider a slightly different approach. Save your favorite voices, or even voice combinations in the bank of registrations that you keep 'up' all the time, rather than the styles. You can make cryptic names for these voices on little stickers next to each registration button, so you don't have to remember what is where. Then keep your short style bank of favorites in a favorite playlist, where you can actually name them any way you like as a memory jog.  This way you have everything you need 80% of the time sitting there for easy and quick selection.
I don't gig any more but if I did, this is how I would do it. Especially since you usually have a little more time to select the style/tempo than RH voice changes, that can be mid song.
In fact I would go a step further and have a pedal set to tempo tap in, that way you can tap the style in by foot at whatever tempo you want. Then even the same style can become versatile for  many different songs.
That way I could have almost everything I might ever play set up already. Song pops into your head, select style/ voice, tap in .......go. There might be a few complicated arrangements I would approach separately, but 90% this would cover me.

If you press DIRECT then a registration / OTS button, you get a nice display that shows you exactly what's assigned to each one.

But I am not sure I understand what you used to be able to do so easily on T5. Surely you always have to switch one part 'off' and then another 'on'? Have you tried pressing the physical 'part on/off' buttons for R1 and R2 at the same time with 2 fingers?

If you want to change R2 to R1 press both buttons together. This turns off R2 and turns on R1 The same applies to R3. Watch any demonstration and you will see most will do this.

Thank You EileenL. This is EXACTLY what I was looking for!!!!
Test it and working as I expect.  Thanks.

Since after 20 years of using the "style registration priority" approach , it is hard to change my workflow I don't think that this is the solution. On the pother hand your suggestion give me some ideas to explore. I think I can implement your suggestion for some other solutions I need. Thanks.

Good to know, I will use this function for sure.
