Hi just got my Genos 2 late this afternoon. Connected my HS8's but when plugging Headphones in the speakers are still on , not going down well with the neighbours. Any way updated to version update and no matter what options I use in the utility they still play with headphones connected ?
Anyone else having problems?

Have a look in the reference manual page 162.

My Genos is plugged into a set of Yamaha speakers - they have a power switch on them. Very handy when I don't want them on!  ;) :D

But yes, look in the manual! :)
It's not what you play, it's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

Hi I have looked in the manual and reference manual psge 162 and it is only referring to the MS01 speaker system, and I also am looking at the line out options but not sure there either

Oops.... you are right here!  ;)
You use the MAIN-OUTs to connect the HS8 speakers and they cannot be stopped by the headphone jack.

My powered speakers are wireless switched on/off by a smart mains socket ..... works great!

Hi supersteve,

The only model on which the Line Out Main jacks can be muted by plugging in headphones (depending on the setting in the Utility Menu) is Tyros5, as the TRS-MS05 speaker system is connected via the Line Out jacks. On all other models, only the 8-pin socket or the internal speakers are (can be) muted when headphones are connected.

Best regards,
Chris
● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Many thanks for the replies I will have to use the on/off switches at the rear of them , But I have also noticed that the jack sockets are not spring retained (meaning they don't lock in) like on Genos1. Did any one else notice.

I have also searched high and low but can't find the screen where you can make the speaker choice as in the demo they show a choice of HS7 and HS8 options

Update found the HS8 setting under Mixer/ EQ .

Further update the Main Out sockets do have a locking mechanism I just wasn't pushing hard enough ! New toy did not want to force things.
Thanks All for your patience
