And it would be nice if we could add our own images too in our songs like in the Technics SX-KN7000 ;)
My best regards,

Hi Rodrigo,

Do you want the Genos2 demo songs only in WAV format, or could it also be MP3?

Best regards,
Chris

Thank you very much for the answer. I collect demos in wav format because it is the highest quality format.

Hi Chris,

How did you record the demos?

I guess with an external audio recorder? If so, which one?

Or is the audio of the demos also going out over USB audio?

Thanks in advance,

Maarten

Hi Maarten,
The demos were originally recorded via the analogue Line Out Main jacks of the Genos2. Today I re-recorded the demos fully digitally via the Genos2 USB Audio Interface with "Cakewalk by BandLab" (44.1 kHz 32bit).

I'm not a big fan of the new G2 Drums in those demos; they sound over-processed to me and not pure contemporary samples like the Ketron Event or the Pa5x.  I've been a performing drummer for 63 years, so I know a little something about the subject.

-I believe you and appreciate your opinion!

I don't have Genos and so I can only tell my opinion about Yamaha voices in general. Those who also have other keyboard brands will usually say, that Yamaha's voices are polished.. that is, they're made to sound nice -which doesn't necessary mean realistic.
Similar as you, those who know how some real instrument sounds, will immediately say something like "a violin doesn't sound that way, sound of mouth harmonica is c**p, zither is totally wrong, etc." -on which I many times agree. But it's also a fact that many like pleasant Yamaha sounds and actually buy Yamaha because of it... which is also because of the music genre that we play (mostly at home).

Hi --

I agree with Bogdan. The whole Yamaha Genos ethos is "sound like the record." Thus, some things -- like the drums -- are too nice and polite. Like it or not, that seems to be their approach.

I tend to play soul and funk for fun and dirty up the drums by putting the drums through a distortion effect of some sort -- Small Stereo Distortion is one of my favorites. Heck, I put it on nearly everything like hot sauce.  :)

All the best -- pj
