Definitely pays to shop around for the best deal. l think some of the prices quoted for trade ins now seem a bit high for the price to change.

Whats it like any videos?

I am thinking of getting some HS 7 speakers to go with mine. Is that what you use?

After my good lady wife gave me the OK I've just paid my £100 deposit to get on A&C Hamilton's pre-order list.

I was quoted £2,399 + my Genos (1) to change. That includes delivery & collection plus, quote,  "All of our additional content which we will be creating for the Genos2 over the next couple of months".

It's going to feel like a long wait but I've got my 4 year old Genos (1) & the free MIDI to Style software to play with in the meantime. Plus the Genos 2 videos on Yamaha Global to watch & learn from.

Yessss!

Hi Tony

Yes ,same here, seemed pretty good folk to deal with, and reasonable prices,I shall take the free delivery, journey a bit far for me now I have some health problems.
Did they give you a delivery date, said mine could possibly be Dec as Yamaha stock running low

Hi AlanS

Yes I agree, they seem nice people - Callam is a very nice man - and I think it's a good deal particularly including delivery. It would be a good journey for me as well, living near Coventry.

I didn't get a delivery date as they don't know when or how many Yamaha will supply to start but think in the next couple of weeks. I've been added to a queue of over 30 I was told and that they've ordered more than that, so fingers crossed I'll get it before Santa hits the road.

They'll call to arrange delivery & collection so I can have it back in its box - after I get it out of the loft.

I hope we early exchangers have a very Merry Christmas - and everyone else as well.

Hi Tony

Seems it will be early Dec for us to take delivery,I noticed you said  that they are creating new content, any idea what is ? never  mentioned it to me.Yes ,nearly time to blow the dust off that long box in the loft.HA HA

BTW If anyone bought their Genos 1 keyboard from Epianos and still has the Genos Tipsters starter information folder they gave with the keyboard,I have been told they are now worth a few notes now,I have the folder that came with the G1 from them, but the subsequent info was downloadable from their website free at the time,it is still available from them, but you need to pay for it (£199 for complete guide).Needless to say I did not download the subsquent files.OH WELL

Hi Alan,

I bought my Genos from them last year and I have Tipsters starter stuff. Is this on the USB1 device which is the hidden USB port underneath the Genos? I have this but I think it's also on the internal disk as well. It certainly has a lot of information and styles on it.

Wim NL

I ordered mine Yesterday.

I hope it will arrive soon. :P

I will have to check on this,I certainly can't find any CD's,I presume these would have the printable information on them,I can't remember receiving any CD's through the post.I have also 2 USB sticks with their  name on ,I'll have a hunt around later. Will check on the 'hidden' USB when I'm next on the G1.Just a thought, does any of this stuff ,styles ,voices etc. need saving,I presume it should work OK on the G2

Hi Alan,

I think I got a CD as well and I think it's in the Genos box so I'll take a look once I box up the Genos for the trade.

As for backwards compatibility I think I heard it will be, I'm hoping so anyway but I was curious about if the Genos2 would play the styles from the Genos1/SX900 that used the Revo technology as it's been removed from Genos2. I'm hoping it can still play them, I'm sure we would have heard by now if not.

The sad thing here in Norway is that no shops do part exchange. Genos2 costs 64000 NOK, that is about 5927 dollars. So I have to think some more on this....🎹

Hi Toril

Why not sell a few of your keyboards,64 NOK converts to £4.74 I think perhaps you meant 64000 NOK which would convert to £4,736 which is a reasonable price in the UK ,5,900 USD.
You could maybe get on a ferry to the east coast of the UK ,after organising a trade-in with one of the dealers from here, you have a fairly new Genos 1 don't you, they are now trading in  at £2000 (27000 NOK)

As someone  said (John)   you can't take it with you.Plus the enhanced screen and sliders and knobs woud make it easier for you hopefully

Best wishes whatever you decide

Good news. Revo drums have not been removed. The older kits are in the Legacy voices.

Yamaha is very good about backward compatibility, I'll say that for them.

All the best -- pj

Hi Russ
Ordered and paid for.
Traded Genos in and paid £3049
I think Thomann are a lot cheaper, but then again they are germany and a lot of shipping if things go wrong.
I am not quibbling over price as £3000 or thereabouts  is a great price considering Genos 1 is nealy six years old.
I think i am second on the list and the new keyboard may be ready for collecting next week.
Oh dear, will have to go up in the loft for the old box and climatize it and hope i do not do my back in lol!! :o

All the Best who was this price from John ???
