uses for the dual USB device ports on SX900?

What are some examples of tasks that take advantage of the dual USB device ports on my SX900? I am just a home player, not a performer, so I find myself using only one port to load in expansion, styles, .vce's, registrations and save backups on a flash drive.

I notice that browsing/audtioning through large nested folders of styles stored on the flash drive is quite cumbersome, as the back button is always required to get back to where I was after trying and saving a style into User. Would a second duplicate flash drive help with this navigation?

I purchased a new SX 900 about two years ago , and really thought that the Quick Audio function was  faulty. Quite often, when I wanted to record a song, a notice would come up saying " This function is unavailable at this time"   Several members suggested that I need to beware of using 4 way Hubs. This solved my problem. I now keep one USB  which has all my Registrations on it in one of the ports at the back of my SX900 and a blank USB stick in the other port on the back of the SX 900. Each time when I want to take the " Blank"  Usb stick out of the back of my SX900 to take it to my computer I  worry a bit that doing that too many times is not good for my SX 900. I am not using my 4 way Hub at the moment, and that is a pity as Hubs have many advantages, and not least the fact that they save potential damage to the ports on  keyboards. Maybe , I should consider buying a powered hub.  One member said that some Hubs have a separate power supply, and that I should check my Hub and see if it  had an input place on the side where I could plug in a power pack.

I was thinking the same thing about port damage, however the manual actually says not to use external USB extensions for some reason.

Regarding my original post here, I guess the answer to the question is sort of obvious to people who use the extra port for access to play loads of styles and registrations directly from 2 different flash drives. I just don't use it for that purpose, as I audition the content from one drive and then save what I like directly to the User memory. So my flash drive is for auditioning styles and registrations and then saving purposes only right now. So just was curious if there are advantages to having the two ports that I am not aware of.

I forgot to mention in my earlier post that there seems to be lots of room in the USER area of a SX 900. I have a feeling that even  if I removed ALL USB sticks from my SX 900 that all my Registrations they would  be available  for me by going into USER. I will try that later this evening and report back if this last statement is incorrect.

I think you'll find that many of us (despite the advice) use a short usb data m/f cable (NOT a charging cable which is different) to make inserting the USB stick simpler. If you play, with the back of your keyboard against a wall say, it's a pain to get to it.
My cable is about a foot long and is secured to the LH side of my music rest. Removal of the stick is easy and quick. Therefore no wear to the actual socket occurs.

Constantly removing and inserting the stick from the Onboard usb socket puts wear on it, and as I found on my Tyros it can and will damage it and make it unusable. Mine shorted out and became unusable.

Due to that I ALWAYS put the USB stick into the socket with the keyboard switched off. Same for removing it.

I know some will put it in and take it out with the keyboard switched on. It's your keyboard. You decide.
