Hello-
I've been searching for a Vox Continental organ voice pack that would be compatible to download to my PSR-S900.
Yes, I know that Korg (is that a dirty name on here?) has a digital version of the much beloved Vox Connie available now.  But it is out of my price range.
Any help in aiding my search will be appreciated.

Hi Chas,

Welcome to the PSR Tutorial Forum!

Unfortunately, the PSR-S900 does not offer the option of installing expansion voices. This is only possible from S950 (only one pack at a time in the now discontinued .yep format). The models from S970/975/770/775, PSR-SX models as well as Tyros5 and Genos) are compatible with the current Expansion Manager (YEM) technology.

On the PSR-S900 you can only change the internal voices in the Voice Set and/or in the Mixer and save as so-called User voices (or in registrations). On the following page you will find a lot of User voices (e.g. .vce) that you could try out. You can access them directly from the USB stick:
>>> https://psrtutorial.com/sty/OF/voice.html

Please note that such User voices can only be used in keyboard parts (Right, Left), but not in styles, multipads or MIDI files.

Important: User voices never contain new samples, but are always based on the samples of the original Preset voice (therefore only contain the changed Voice Set parameters).

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

Do you have any idea how I can open it on my PC??

Thanks again for your help!

Hi --

I used to play S950 and have a fondness for combo organs.

You probably tried the 60sOrgan voice (0 116 18). Please don't forget the GM/XG organ voices and don't miss the GM2 voices. GM2, in particular, has the It60'sOrgan voice (121 2 17). I got a lot of mileage out of It60'sOrgan.

The GM/GM2 church organs (!) can be warped into combo organ territory by dialing up vibrato. Turn off any rotary speaker effect as most people never routed their combo organ into a Leslie.

The Organ Flutes can be used to simulate a combo organ. The 60sPopRock style had an OTS setting with a passable combo organ sound. Try 803886000, vibrato 3, no percussion.

The Connie had only 16', 8', 4' and IV mixture (2-2/3', 2', 1-3/5', 1'), so if you want authenticity, you should limit yourself to those drawbars.

Hope this helps -- pj

Hi Chas,

Apparently Google Translator had changed my link in such a way that it no longer worked.

Here is the correct link to the page with the User Voice files.
