Hi folks
I have made over 700 registrations on my keyboard so you would think I have got over the doubts of how to make them
Now I have a mind blockage
I want to be able to use the voices and possibly but not certain the style that is already set in my reg to a given song to use in a new song
I.E use the same voices etc on another song in the regbank and set them as another song reg
To put this another way
How do I save voices that are already In registrations for songs that I like  so as to pull them into new song registrations when I need them
Regards,
Adrian

If you want to use a registration with a different style just put the freeze button on.
You can also create what I call a style free bank by taking the ticks out of style and tempo in the memory and then creating a new bank with your favourite voices in.
You can then use any style without putting the freeze button on.

Thankyou Eileen,
I have never used the freeze so far so thankyou for the advice
A style free bank is an excellent idea, with choice of the very best voice sounds that you can put styles to for many songs
Perhaps several banks to use with different moods, soft songs etc
That is the best idea I have read so far, why didn't I think of that ?
I don't think anything will beat that
Thankyou again Eileen

Yes you only need to make about six of these in different genres and the world is your oyster.

To copy a registration button:
1. Load the button,
2. Call up the target bank, but don't load any of its buttons
3. Press Memory>Check groups you want copied>Target button

Thanks Fred,
I will take a look at that, it will help me make up the non allocated reg banks like Eileen has suggested

Thanks Eileen
I was wandering how many it would take, would you like to suggest names for the categories ?
I remember Mike Mixon suggesting using the banks for favourite voices, at the time I didn't twig on how good this could be, I think you have taken it to a new level of usefulness.
Possibly by just saving and renaming a suitable bank and setting a suitable style in the first button

Hi Adrian,

Here is a note regarding the Freeze function:

You should first call up the Freeze Settings display with "[Direct Access] > [Freeze]". There tick the group(s) that should remain unchanged later when the Freeze function is switched on. It is important to close this display by pressing the Exit button so that the settings are saved.

Examples:
- If you want to prevent the current Right Voices from being changed by Registrations when the Freeze function is activated, check the boxes "Voice" and "Harmony" in the Freeze Settings.

- If you want to freeze the current Style (including the Left Voice!) and the current tempo, check the "Style" and "Tempo" boxes.

(See also page 96 in the Tyros5 Reference Manual.)

Best regards,
Chris

Hi Chris,
Thanks for that, I will  check the setting
With regards to using the reg banks to store voices as a preloaded songbank to rename and use several times with different songs, the first button with the style will be altered many times.
I shall require the style to continue on through all the other button settings on the bank.
Eileen says freeze will be required for that, I need to keep all the other 7 bank settings unchanged but include running the style through them all

adrianed,

I do this by saving individual voices to the Voice/User/ section, or I make them Favorites. Either way works. If you have 700 different voices you want to save for another style, this way would be too time comsuming, but to saveyou favorite piano voice, sax voice etc... it works fine.

Thanks Rick,
I don't have 700 different voices, I have 732 different songs in the registrations, many use the same voices as others
They have been done at random over the years
Thanks again

Hello Adrian,
I have a bank for Country which had voices you would find in country music
I have a bank for slow swing and Orchestral with soft sounding voices.
I have a Latin bank which may contain Flutes, Rep Mandolins, trumpets etc.
I have a bank for any type Ballad which builds as it goes along.
I have a Bank for Theatre Organs. Care homes love these sounds.
I have a bank for Novelty songs which contain fun sounds.
I then have several banks that I tailored for specific songs.
I don't save a style to any of them so I am free just to pick styles as I go along.

Thankyou Eileen for those ideas of category naming.
It could be a big thing if refined too much almost like setting voices for each song again.
There are slinky songs like in the old smoky room clubs say like Siboney or Sleepy lagoon, constantly looking for songs like these
Many of the voices I use are from styles, that is where I look first then the music finder then the built in voices
Still quite a time consuming job, I only hope I have enough years ahead for it all.
Thankyou for all the help and suggestions
