Am looking for guitar strumming style packs, spanglish, country, and others...any suggestions?

I haven't had much luck in finding them, so ...

I've taken to finding styles that have guitars in them, and muting everything else (except maybe the Bass).
Creative subtraction of style instruments has yielded quite a surprising amount of variations that can be used.

Hello Adam, is it possible to create my own guitar strum styles?
I use Mixcraft DAW and was tinkering with it and can create
markers, so am assuming all I need to do is create a strumming
song along with other instruments I wish then add marker then
export as .sty ...am I correct? There's a free strummer vst found
at  http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?plugin=Strummer&id=2388

Hi Gusher,

which keyboard model do you have?

Did you already try the Preset Multi Pads of your keyboard? There should be also "strumming" guitar Pads.

Best regards,
Chris

Try country strumming in the country section of your keyboard. Great style.

My workflow is different, I use software arranger in conjunction with my DAW
and a midi controller.... this one... https://youtu.be/6o5J2XLNfmw

I do own Strum GS-2 VST  ...but yet have not fully
understood creating my own style... am guessing
it's just a midi file with markers and no melody
in it...

Hi Gusher,

thanks for the detailed feedback!

Yes, a (Yamaha) Style file is in principle a MIDI file with Markers. But there is MUCH MORE in a Style file. Current Yamaha keyboards use the Style File Format "SFF2" (= SFF GE). "GE" means "Guitar Edition" here. Models before Tyros3 and PSR-S910 use the format "SFF1". (All SFF2 models can read also SFF1 Styles.)

It is not easy to make a Yamaha Style "from scratch". In theory, you can use a MIDI template that contains the correct Markers, edit it in the DAW (using Channels 9 - 16 only (9 and 10 for Drums), export it in MIDI format "SMF0" and change the file extension from .mid to .sty.

Now you have to add a Default CASM part to the Style, for example by loading the "raw" Style in the keyboard and save it via the Style Creator as a Style file.

Here you can download a SFF1 Style Template (MIDI file) containing the Markers:

Thanks for the detailed post there, Chris.

I don't use a DAW, or anything like that, just what I can find on the Genos itself.  I was in way beyond my depth, there.
