Not sure whether this is the correct area to ask this question but anyway....

On my windows 10 PC I have Groove Music,  VLC, and the Windows Media Player as apps that can open and play MP3 files.  To my ears there seems to be minor differences in the sound quality each provides  (I think Groove and VLC seem superior to Windows Media Player).   Maybe this is my imagination.

I am wondering whether there really is a difference and if there's a go-to player that you prefer.  I know there are many more alternatives that can be considered including Music Bee.

What player do you use and why?    Thanks in advance for any feedback.

The quality of an MP3 file really depends on the bit rate, not the player.

I have always used VLC for both MP3 & Video.
Never had a problem with quality.

If it a True MP3 320 KBPS
Then you have no issue with VLC.

Also note that some Apps like to add Filters like
EQ, Gain, and Bass / Treble Boost
VLC is neutral by default.

Coming back to the MP3
Even if it says 320 Kbps Quality, It doesn't mean that it is actually that quality.
Those figures can be manipulated.

The best way to determine the quality.

1. Source of download ( trusted website )
2. Listen to the quality by ears
3. Frequency spectrum analyser

Hope this helps you!
