Hi Guys, I have a old and tired ASUS Prime Tablet 10" time to retire it e-waste.
Only Apple Product I own a old iPod, retired that. small small screen.
I checking out Tablets, don't care for MS tablets, reading  all reviews, very tiring! Check out the Galaxy S6 10.50 comes with most everything, Con they are having problem with the Stand, and cover coming off, put not too real pricey.
I been more gearing toward Apple iPad Pro 11" 2nd Gen. 256GB Faster processor , as you know, no KB or Apple pen, and cover not included, yes I know the apple the 12.9 for sheet music is better ,a matter of options of size, put 12.9 is about a $1,000, no bells and whistles. I read the best thing about Apple products, they last longer than the Galaxy products?
I'm not a professional player, but would be way better using a Tablet for reading music than music books, and sheet music.
I don't think I would kick my self if I went toward the 11" instead of not gearing towards the 12.9", what would be my total size be on 11" with viewing sheet music, would  it be 11" or 10.97"? verse my 10" Prime Tablet, boy! I'm a terrible typer when it come to asking a Question(s) Sorry! Yes looking over a $1000 if I got cover, KB, and Pen, But be willing so spend that much, have the money being we are sheltered in Place in California.
Thank you for opinions.
Be safe! Rcca

You won't go wrong with the 11" iPad. I have it, and love it.

Remember that 11" is the diagonal measurement. An 11" iPad will have about 57 sq in of viewing area, whereas a 12.9" will have about 76 sq in. So the difference is significant, but so is the price.

Cheers,
Fred

PS. I don't don't have any accessories. The iPad is all I need. I would buy it first, then decide about accessories later.

If you want A4 normal size sheet music then you will need a 12.9"
Best investment you can make for anything to do with music.

Too big to heavy 12.9 and pricey $$$$, if I was playing for a living then I would go to the 12.9.
I probably will go for the Apple pen and probably not the keyboard, magic keyboard highly expensive
Thank you for the insight opinion.

Unless you have a specific need to buy the IPAD Pen, I would just purchase a cheap Bluetooth keyboard. They are small and very cheap.

You can also buy a wall bracket to hold the IPAD so that you can get it up much closer for normal reading glasses. £15 in the UK.

Too big to heavy

Too big to neavy, - waw - 🤔.   First time I ever heard that.

Before we would have had a bag full of heavy sheet music.

Surprising as it may seem, Pino, some people use their iPads for more than their sheet music. And for just about every other task, the iPad is too big and heavy.

Well, went Costco, they had on display the Pro 11" 2nd gen sold out, measured it, 1/4 bezel,  the tall end to end to edge, 9.75- inside bezel 9 1/4, 6.03 end to end, 3 web sites say 7.03, Staples and my measurements were the only true measurements, web sites a miss print? Inside bezel measurements 5 3/4, diagonally inside about 11"
We know the larger 12.9 is what it is, but didn't measure it.
The 1st thing the Costco guy said too big and heavy for him, he loves the 11" one.
Tempting to get the 12.9, wife was upset just the price for the 11" one.
Oh well, will see! If we didn't have one of our cars have a 400.00 renewal on license sticker, she wouldn't been too shocked of the price to pay for the 11" one.
Thanks for the help.

My 11" iPad Pro measures 7.03" wide, so I agree with the website.

I could not agree more. Mine lives permanently on the keyboard's music rest with its own power lead that connects when I switch on the power supply to the keyboard. Best investment I ever made.

I was set to go for the 12.9 if Staples carries it at all, nope they did not, not meant to be for me mostly the price, my Banker wife was happy about that news.
Staples has a better 2 yr. protection plan, against water and drop damage, and more, with no questions asked.
Store Manager help me out, he used one of his coupons just for me, plus a price match, saved me $262.50, would of been over $1,000 Total came to $846.45 for the iPad Pro 2nd Gen. 256GB.
Out of Stock of the Apple Pen, no hurry on it yet! I'll just get a Folio Case Cover last, if I will like the iPad, and if all goes well? Plus get a Lighting device to plug in my External drive to the Tablet Type C port.
I own a 3rd Generation iPod only use it too play Mp3 music on our boat, App iTunes in my old HP laptop W7, only use it for a few games, not plugged into the Internet, don't want to upgrade it to W10, so that leaves me my Hi-end Desktop, and my Hi-end MSI laptop, neither have iTunes, have a dumb question: Should I install iTunes 1st only in my Desktop before I get my iPad, or just plug my Pro in the Desktop and follow the instructions? Sorry I know this is a Yamaha forum, and I'm not a Great fan with Apple products, put I was told when I get the Pro you will Love both, matter of opinion!
   Thanks again for the help!

The iPad can do everything an Android can do and probably a lot more

Put your questions here one by one and you will get them answered

A new device or new software takes a while to get used to.

Pino

Ps, I never went near iTunes, you need to get an iCloud account working

Neither did I. Try and avoid getting absorbed by Apple and it's systems.

Now that you have your ipad and questions . . . it would help if you list your questions one by one but before doing that, please provide a description of what you are trying to accomplish with the ipad.

Are trying to read PDF's using the ipad ?
are you trying to connect the iPad to a keyboard ?
are you trying to control your pdf's and keyboard registrations from the ipad ?
are you trying to . . . what ?

Based on your description members here will be eager to answer your specific questions.

Enjoy your new tool.

Have a great day.

I was trying how to File Sharing, I got it figured out, my app ForScore showed up on iTunes, Followed guy instructions on YT, finally my sheet music showed up on my iPad, well now thousand more sheet music to go of PDF formatted.
My other sheet music and books will have to be snap shot in with the iPad camera to load in with ForScore App, I'm I right of doing that way and only way?
Then have to learn getting MP3 in, and some my Videos, any ideas how too?
Boy, boy, stupid me, live and learn, I was using to us iMovie to load one of my movies in, my friend, to install, or and play a movie, Apple calls it Apple TV, so lit up that icon, well I thought Apple wanted me to buy a movie or do something no play your movies using Apple TV and then there was my movies installed on my iPad according to iTunes, LOL live and learn, no wonder I could not find my movies.
I found out how to get my mp3 in after  hour plus.

I use OneDrive to transfer files into my iPad wirelessly .

Additionally, I have this USB drive device that connects to both Windows computers and iPads . . . .

I can transfer files from my windows computer to my ipad using this USB drive. Such as mp3's and videos, pdf's, etc.

There are several brand names, i just happen to use this one.

Hope this helps.
