Hi - Trying to record.  USB  Audio - push record - shows recordable time at 80.00 - records perfect but shuts off at .47 seconds - showing This Drive is Busy Now. Can,t find a way to keep it at 80.00.  Really old guy needs some help.

This happens because the USB drive is not managing to process the data from the recording fast enough. Try another USB drive. Do not keep many other files on the drive. If it is full of data that slows down the reading time too. Have had the same problem😀

Best thing is to use an EMPTY on the keyboard formatted USB with nothing else on it for recording. If other stuff is on it the recording data has to find a way where to store it in between the other stuff so to speak.
No title also just straight recording. It is a common problem and has been mentioned many times on this forum.

Hi Toril and Dick.  -   Have used different USB.  For quite a while I noticed the Recordable Time was like 44min or 19 or 34 it would record right thru with no problem.  Now I'm back to same old 80 but goes off at 47 seconds.  One of the USB is MT but shows the  80 to record.  Is there anyway to change or adjust the Recording Time???  -   Thanks a ton for trying to help me.  I cannot find any way to do it.  -  Norm

Hello Norm. Did you format the USB stick on the keyboard?

The most common reason for this is the brand of USB. Only certain ones are 'officially' supported. I think the Yamaha website gives a list. (NB they are not uncommon or unusual brands, so it's not a rip-off thing)

Hi Toril -  The USB's I am using have been used on keyboard for years.  Would I still have to format ???  I know how to format on my computer.  How do you do it on the keyboard ??   --   Norm

Toril S

If so you do not need to format sgain, but try to record with an empty usb stick.

Hi to all my respondents  :   Ended taking my USB that I emptied.  Put in keyboard and formatted again.  It ended up showing 47/ 36 recordable.  Tried recording - no problem.  When I played back - noticed the length of the song was deducted from time left to record.   Tried later on but showed 80 min again and had the same old story.   Formated  again - back to 47/36.  Recording OK.  Away for the weekend.  Will keep you updated.  -  Norm

Sounds like a funny USB stick. I had that almost always with Toshiba USB's on the keyboard but not on the PC. Never had that with Sandisk or Kingston. Try another brand.
