When you create your registrations do you individually eq your sounds ?

I go straight to the reverb settings and start by at least doubling them.

It brings the keyboard to life (at least to my ears!).

I quite often increase the reverb on individual instruments, I agree with Chris, it brings them to life. I sometimes increase the reverb slightly on the drums in a style.
I find the brass is sometimes too piercing in the upper registers and I will take down the higher EQs. Likewise some of the strings. Increasing the low EQs can warm up and thicken a voice, I'm always experimenting with the pianos! Having said that any changes I make are usually only small.

I would suggest to use other effects too, like EQ high and low, harmonic content, brightness.
It is easy to change them individually for each style part and right and left hand voices .
No need to know anything about what they are doing to the sound.I don't care either.
Just mess around and try them and you will hear how differently your keyboard now sounds.

Keep in mind that some weird people like me  ;D ,find the extreme usage of reverb in all sounds very very unnatural.

This is the kind of stuff that terrifies me. I haven't any idea what it all means. It's an area from which I keep well away.

Hi Alan,
You should venture into trying some of these things. You can't harm your keyboard and if you don't try you will never know what your keyboard can do.

I know that you're right, but I have to make haste slowly, one thing at a time. I bought this machine in the secure knowledge that I would never fully understand it, and so it has proved. There's always an avenue to explore.
