I am seeking a Jazz Style that has a "Walking Bass". Is this even possible? I have a PSR-S770.

Thanks, in advance, for any for any help you can provide.

You have a style on your keyboard in the JAZZ section called: JazzGuitarClub

There is a walking bass located in the MAIN C & D parts of the style.

Thank you, Drake. It is not exactly a "walking bass", in which it "walks" up the scale of each chord, as you strike the first note of the chord. However, it is close enough, and it will serve me well in the future!

Thanks so much.

Hi  Jim

If you post a link to a YouTube song with an example of the bass pattern you are wanting, perhaps I have it or a close match for you I can put into a jazz style.

I have pasted in a walking bass line from You Tube, as you suggested. It is performed on Satin Doll.

But I am grateful for the styles that you found. I had not heard those before.

Thanks.

Yea, that is a really easy one to find and very popular.

I have attached the "JazzGuitarClub" style and put the walking bass line in all four of the mains for you and renamed it to "Satin Doll".

Hi
You can easily create a walking bass line or any bass line you wish to create using AI fingered on your keyboard. See the attached article from the Yamaha Magazine by Jackie Marsden. Musically a bass line should provide a counter melody so you probably will only want the ascending bass line for a section of the music. This technique allows you to do that. There may be some styles where it does not work but I think you will find it very useful.

Thank you, Drake, and thank you, Ed!

I am grateful.

Drake, please help me learn..........what software did you you use to modify the style? And how could I have modified it myself?

Thanks so much.

Hi Jim,
This function actually is in your keyboard.
It is Style Creator's "Assembly" function.
It is easy and very helpful to use so you can create your own styles.
You just have to "copy" a part from a style and "paste" it in another style.
Drake is using successfully this method too in order to create a unique style for each song he wants to perform.  :)
