Hello friends!
On Friday I played in a 60th birthday party. Maybe 35-40 people were there. The room is not an easy room soundwise, and it is rather small, so I had to place my Bose too close to the wall. And, as expected, the bass got a little more pronounced. But, even with this drawbeck, people kept coming up to me and said: What a wonderful sound, not too loud, not too feint, we really like it!
So thanks again to the friends here that recommended the Bose to me!  Every time I use it, people praise the sound! I almost always use both extensions on the tower. It is a superb little speaker system, that suits my needs :)

Good to hear that !   do not forget also that if the Bose sounds good it is because you are playing great.     !!!!!!

Have a great day.

Hi Toril,

If you were using your S975 at the party, just a reminder that in situations like that you can go into the EQ and lower Db bands 1 & 2 until the bass sounds more like you want. Go by the sound, not the numbers which might seem "alarmingly" in the negative numbers.

The changes will be temporary; next startup will have your normal saved settings.

if the bass on the bose compact seemed a little too much for just you then it probably was not noticed by the crowd. You are hearing the back pslash from the wall that probably will not carry into the room

Thank Toril for writing your review.  Are you only using one L1?  I'm trying to decide whether to bite the bullet and buy the L1 and it's much easier to swallow if buying only one is enough!

Toril S

I have only one. More than sufficient, unless you play for very big crowds. Note that oiano voices sound best in stereo. The Bose L1 compact is great, and not too heavy.
