Vocal midi multipad question

In my eyes it is a miracle how Yamaha created the vocal phrases in the T4/T5 and Genos Midi Multipad Section.

As far as I know there is no other arranger keyboard manufacturer who is offering this great feature, right ?

I wonder how Yamaha are making these midi multipads.

Is it possible for us, players, to create vocal midi multipads ?  That would be great but I am afraid we do not have the software to make them.

A Yamaha secret, I guess ?😉

Your input and comments are most welcome. Thanks !

You just need to find an FX kit that has vocal sounds in it.  Then use PadMaker to create a Multi Pad.

Hi Babette,

Any voices used in a preset MIDI multi pad, must already be available (i.e. built into) that keyboard!  If you try a MIDI Multi Pad from a different keyboard and there is no sound, it usually means that the voice used in the pad is not available on your keyboard.

I suggest that you load up one of the Multi Pad banks that you like, then open the 'Multi Pad Creator' and examine the MIDI code on the 'EDIT' page to get an idea of how they are constructed.

You will see that some of them switch voices several times during the pattern, sometimes playing just one or two notes before changing to a different one.

There are also MEGA Voices in the choir category on some keyboards (13 on my Tyros4) which may be used to give different sounds without changing the voice.

Thank you very much, Ian, for your interesting instructions.
Much appreciated.
Owning a T5, I wonder if all T4 vocal mps are present in the T5 ? Do you know ?

Best regards, Babette
