Hello Moshe! I do not have a Tyros, but I think there is a little, round knob at the back of the Tyros where you can ajust the contrast of the screen. If that don't work I am afraid you will have to send it in for repair. Good luck :)

Hi moshe israeli,

as I wrote for your TWO threads (with the same question) about PSR-S550, before:

Please avoid such double/multi postings (same question in multiple sub-forums). This is very irritating for the people that want to help you.

In this case, I have answered you in your second thread on this topic:

Hi Toril S,

only on Tyros1 and Tyros2 the LCD contrast can be adjusted (at the back side of the display unit), but NOT on Tyros3/4/5. :)

Chris

I think you need to get the Tyros 4 looked at by a service engineer as we can not tell you what is happening.

Hi,

Unfortunately, you cannot just connect an external display and get it working as you need to set the display options in the original Tyros screen which is not working. :(

I would assume that the output to the screen is faulty.

So you will need to send the keyboard to a repair agent.

Hi,

If you follow the instructions carefully, you would be able to do the setup without the screen as long as you carefully follow the instructions and push the appropriate buttons at the correct time and amounts. Someone with the Tyros 4 could write down the correct sequence for you. If you have trouble, I could probably do that for you. :)

Hi moshe israeli,

the screen out on T4 is always active: On a connected external VGA monitor, you should see either the normal internal display content OR the Lyrics/Text display (depends on the current display out setting on your T4).

But if NOTHING is displayed on an external monitor (and you have made sure, that the monitor supports VGA resolution 640 x 480 px, and that the monitor works properly on another device/PC, of course), I guess it is a internal hardware defect (possibly the Graphic Chip inside the T4).

Have you already checked the internal "ribbon" cables/connectors (to make sure that not a plug/connector is loose)?

Best regards,
Chris

Hi moshe israeli,

I would NOT buy a defective Tyros4 for 1000 $.

The original LCD replacement part is 410,00 EUR at German company "audio-service.com":

It could be also a defect on the "LCL" board (73,00 EUR) or the "DM" (Main) board (803,00 EUR). (On each of this two boards there is a "LVDS" LCD driver IC.)

Best regards,
Chris
