Hi,

I am attempting to make a style for my Tyros 4 using OMB but I am not getting anywhere. :'(

I have tried following the instructions but all the parts sound the same even when I change the instrument.

Is there a tutorial anywhere that shows how to do this or a step by step guide?

Thanks for any help.

Martin,

There's a manual in the program - look in the dropdown menu.

Hi Piet,

Yes, I have found that and followed the instructions but the live menu does not change the voices for some reason. :-[

The playback also does not appear to play all the voices from the midi file.

Thanks,

Martin

Martin, are you playing the MIDI voices on your computer, or routing them to your keyboard to be played?

Okay, the reason I asked is because the issue might be with the default MIDI soft synth that's being used on your computer. It isn't going to sound the same as the voices on your keyboard, plus it isn't going to have all of the voices that are available on your keyboard. Having said that, I have no experience with One Man Band and so don't know whether it comes with its own MIDI player and soft synth. I also don't know whether you can select your keyboard as the MIDI Out device so the accompaniments will play using your keyboard's voices-- which would be the ideal choice if you intend to use the accompaniments on your keyboard.

HI SeaGTgruff.

Thanks for the reply. :)

AS far as I can tell it has it's own synth and Midi.

You can play the voices in a different manner but for some reason not when testing the style. :'(

Regretfully the writer of the software hasn't replied to my email regarding that question.

I do wonder why the programmer doesn't reply when they want to sell the software?

I had the same result when I emailed regarding Style Magic. :-\

It is shame that neither OMB and Style Magic do not have forums for users to discuss problems and suggestions. :(

Martin, I'm wondering which version of OMB you're using. Windows? Mac? iOS? Linux? 10? 11? 12? Free demo? Paid? I've been thinking of trying OMB myself and thought I might be able to help you if I'm trying the same version that you're using.

Arnak

Hi,

It is the windows 7 version 12, demo.

I am split between OMB and Style Magic.

After looking at both I think that Style Magic has the edge, at least there are 3 on-line demo's on you tube.

Neither have a forum and don't seem to respond much to emails for help. :-\

Style Magic appears to be more comprehensive although more complex.

See what you think with the 2 demo versions but my vote is for Style Magic
