I have a Tyros 4 looking for a good starting point for Eq settings when using an external PA system ?

Much of this will depend on the PA system itself. If the PA does not have it's own EQ system and effects, then you will have to do all of this with the keyboard. And, each venue is different in that respect as well. There is a huge difference in settings between a venue with hard walls and a hard floor, V/S a venue that is carpeted with lots of drapes and an acoustic ceiling. There are no set rules pertaining to this, so you must play this one by ear, so to speak.

The easiest way to do this is to arrive at the venue early, set up your equipment, then place a midi file in the keyboard that you made using that specific keyboard and play it while you walk through the venue. Then you can make the appropriate adjustments with the keyboard and walk through the venue again to determine how it sounds.

Also, you must keep in mind that these settings can change as the night wears on. As the audience size and noise level increases, you may have to change your settings a bit to compensate for this.

Hope this helps,

HI,

YOU MAY HAVE SEVERAL USER EQ SETTINGS FOR DIFFERENT SONGS/STYLES. WHEN YOU ARE HAPPY WITH THOSE DO NOT CHANGE IT AS PER VENUE. I USE MY EXTERNAL MIXER FOR THAT PURPOSE SO THAT EXTERNAL MIXER EQ  SETTING WILL BE ADJUSTED AS PER VENUE. YOU CAN KEEP A SMALL MIXER FOR THIS PURPOSE. USUALLY AT BIGGER VENUES IT WILL BE HANDLED BY SOUND GUYS.

THANKS
