Hello Friends

A few days I got the request from one of the Guitar Centers in Scottsdale Arizona to see if I could do a Genos demo, and of course, I agreed.
Today was the day, at Guitar Center in Scottsdale, I arrived to the store before she did to setup my Genos, and just minutes she arrived,
I realized that was Gloria from this Forum, that is an amazing experience, meet face to face another forum member.

After a very nice time and exploring the different areas of the Genos, I am under the impression that she really, really, really like it....!!!!
I am posting couple pictures from that meeting.

This was a very exciting day for me - getting to meet Manuel from this forum & also the Manuel I've heard  entertaining in the Phoenix, Scottsdale, Az. areas for several yrs!  His demonstration of the Genos was excellent  :) & I am definitely looking forward to getting my own Genos!  Manuel is a terrific musician & also an excellent representative for the Yamaha Corp!  The Genos is truly a breakthrough in sound, styles, voices & electronic technology!

So good when forum members meet! And there is no medicine for Genos fever. :) The only thing that helps is to buy a Genos :)

Seems like you had a good time there  :D
My greetings to both of you!!

I always meant to come back and play golf with you but I retired quite a few years ago so have not had the excuse to visit my office in your part of the world. I spent a lot of my time initially building our dream retirement home in Scotland, but when it was finished decided not to move back full time. So now living the good life traveling back and forward to Europe and visiting lots of other places in between. We stay busy but maybe I will meander up your direction some time.  I'm thinking that if I catch you before you are fully fit again I might be able to beat you. Of course you could also visit me here in Houston😄

Gloria

Hi Eileen,  Yes that was a fun afternoon & I learned Manuel knows you & we both agree you've earned the title of "Mama Yamaha" in the field of Keyboard Playing!   :)  (That's a title I heard when I first joined the music forums!.)

Regards, Gloria

GARY - Yes, I wish you could have been there too, you two would have lots of "musical experiences" to talk about!  (You could have brought your keyboard via your yacht!)  :)

PANOS - Yes, that was a good time had by the "whole store!"   :D

Looks like a fun meeting. Wish I could have been there also.
It's really nice seeing current pictures of Forum members, and even better meeting some of them in person. I had the pleasure of spending a day last fall with Paula D. and her husband and I am hoping to meet Don M. in Shreveport in a couple of weeks. I will try to get a picture of us to most after that meeting.
Gloria, congratulations on your new Genos!

Mike, I'm not sure when I will play golf again.  The doctor has released me and said I could do anything I feel like doing, but I think it will be a few more weeks before I feel like it.  I start cardiac rehab next week, so that will help regaining some strength.
It would be great to get together again.  My son was in Galveston this week but he didn't ask me to go with him!  :)
I'm glad to hear you are in such a great place in your life!  BTW, I'm still playing the same place as when you were here!

Hello friends

Like my newly found friend Gloria mention, there are some amazing people in this forum, Eileen, Don, Stephen, Paul, Gary, Mikf, Toril, Panos, etc...
We got to "know" per say, many members of this forum that share experiences, tips, files, and spread kindest, advise, etc...I really appreciate all of you.

Not matter what age we have, is always nice to learn from each other, Don has some of the best Country Guitar chops/licks I ever heard in a keyboard and makes it sound so easy.....
Eileen with the wealth of knowledge she has and generosity, same goes for our beloved gentleman Gary, Stephen for his kindest and positiveness , etc....
I hope I get to know more of you guys and gals....

Hello Manuel,
I have had Yamaha organs and keyboards for the last forty odd years and loved them. I also had others such as Tecnics, Korg, Roland, Farfisa, and Lowery but always came back to Yamaha for there sound and excellent tech support. Thank you for your kind words.

HI  Gloria,

Am using brand new computer .  The other one "died"  and had to start all over getting programs installed,, and making
sure that this new device has an english operating system.. (bought in Israel)

Have had several pleasures 'MEETING"  you and your charming Gus.
Have been to your home several times to do recording and get together.
Plus always remember when you and Luther drove up to Vegas and met us at the Mirage.. coffee shop.

Am so excited that you finally got to see and hear the genos in real time.  I know you have been considering a new keyboard
for a long time.   If ever get to Phoenix again in the fall, maybe can look forward to seeing that machine grace your music parlor.
Am sure with those new voices, Gus will get a good howl out of them.

Again, sorry for delay, but was busy running computers back and forth into the shops.
Keep us up to date on your search and procurement of any yamaha keyboard and try to think of some duets... ha ha

cheers

Hi Toril,

managed to re install the zip file extractors , audacity /lame...
Yes, a nightmare to get back all the programs.   The comp. guy extracted the hard disk from the old computer which contained a few
files.. but all my programs had to be reinstalled.   Still some bugs, but hopefully will be ironed out and participate on the song board.
all the best to you

cheers

Oooh Elaine, I'm so happy that your computer problems have been straightened out; it must have been a nightmare!  You have been missed!

Quoting you: "Am sure with those new voices, Gus will get a good howl out of them."   Yes, I'm going to order a Genos today, guess they're on backorder; don't know how long it will take for Gus to howl !  Manuel's demonstration of it certainly shows what a great sounding keyboard it is!   ;D

Gloria, at least you don't have to contend with snow, which we have coming tonight and tomorrow. Damned I hate winter in Maryland.

Have fun with that new Genos when it arrives, and I suspect you will not be getting much sleep for the next couple weeks.

All the best,

Gary,
Misery loves company  we are getting snow in RI coming Wednesday afternoon.  What a mistake we made coming back north on the first of March, it won't happen again next year.

Gloria NO you won't be sleeping much once you get the Genos. :)

Toril, that is a healthy attitude! :)  Once upon a time I was as enthusiastic about skiing as I am about arranger keyboards.  We used to pray that is snowed around Thanksgiving time so we could spend some of the long weekend skiing.
