Registration - Music Finder / Playlist

Bill

Hi Antonia

I'm not exactly sure if I understand you correctly, however

You Can save individual registrations to a playlist.  There is a single tab marked add to playlist.
You Can Edit and change Registrations.
You Can Change style and sounds (IN REGISTRATION OR STYLE)
There is no confusion (in my mind) about playlists. It does not get any easier.

Point 2 I do not understand

Bill
England

Current KB:  YAMAHA GENOS 2

1) impossible to save individual registrations
I don't understand what you're trying to say, but I have no problem-saving individual registrations to a playlist

2) impossible to transform the global playlist into those of Keyword

No playlist does not use keywords like the Music Finder did

3) Impossigle editing and saving changes to the registration
  see answer to number 1

4) changes on styles and sounds are not accepted
Where are you talking about?

5)there is a lot of confusion in the pages in the management of playlists
The manuals are never really great when it comes to explaining but I don't seem to have the problem managing playlists, can you elaborate for us?

iain

I understand where he is coming from on the first question how do you add one reg file not the ten of them ?

Assuming you have at least one playlist or more, you go to that playlist and from the playlist screen you choose "add to playlist."  Then navigate to where the registration is that you want to add and then add it.

iain

I've lost the plot where on the screen does it say add to playlist I can only add a registration as you can see at the bottom the only option it gives you when you press list is a few of my registration banks ?

Touch "under record" the word that reads " LIST " that will take you to where you'll then navigate to where ever your registrations are stored.

iain

Yes that takes me to registration bank and ten registrations get loaded can I not load one eg. Registration bank 1 number 6 in that bank ?

stephenm52

Ok I understand I usually use one song per bank of 10, that's the difference.

gerarde

Referring to the pic that is posted above, press EDIT, than select 6.
That will load the registration button 6 for that record in playlist.
If you notice in the picture all the playlist records are pointing to registration button 1.

Gerard

iain

There has got to be a solution to this what is the point of a playlist if you can just look at your registration banks and do the same think ? If you are playing live you want the style to be easily accessible and not hidden for a quick change .I thought this was what the playlist would do scroll through styles and hit the next one you want .

gerarde

And going one step further.
If you have a registration bank that has 10 songs in it, one for each button, add that registration to the playlist 10 times.
Then for each song in that bank, EDIT the button you want that playlist record to point to, rename it, and then save the playlist.
Now you have 10 playlist records, for one bank, with 10 songs in it and named exactly as you want it to.

Gerard

gerarde

The purpose of a playlist it to easily get to a group of songs that you play quickly.
I have over 400 registrations for songs I do.
I would be spinning the wheel a lot to get to the song I want just looking through all my registrations.
I created playlists called SET1, SET2, SET3, 40s, OLD COUNRY, OLDIES, etc.
And I can create as many playlists as I want to.

Hello Everybody

I really thank everyone for the help you are giving me.

Step by step:

1) I have the Tyros 5 Music Finder,
how do i convert 2500 records
in 2500 Registration single?

Antonio

Antonio

step by step

2) From a converted Tyros5 playlist of 2500 records
How do I extrapolate and save a single registration?

Antonio

Hallo  Stephenm52

I assume you are assuming that you have created registrations
ex novo from Genos.

With the registrations converted for Genos your speech
it's not worth anymore.

Thanks anyway

I ask IAIN kindly to tell me how do you take pictures of the Genos menus ????

Many thanks

Antonio

Tyros 5

the organization of the songs consisted of a series of Repertoire / Thema with about 60/70 songs.

The repertoires are 51 with a total of about 3200 Songs.

With the convenient function of the Keyword I was able to produce well-defined repertoires.

Genos

With the Genos the conversion was traumatic, managing 2500 records in one file it's terrible.

With Michael Bedesen's MUSIC FINDER VIEW program, I saved my repertoires (51) in a partial way.

However the management is still heavy, you can only select a record and play, other operations like saving, editing etc.
it turns out at the moment not manageable.

gerarde

When you select a record and Load it to play, press EXIT to go back to main menu.
Make what changes you want to voices, tempo, volume settings, and then click on the Registration on the top of the screen, and save it.
The next time you call up that song in your playlist, it will load the changes you  made.

A playlist record is just a pointer to a registration.
So, if you make a change to a registration, it automatically plays those changes in the playlist.

The 'screen shot' in Iain's post is simply a photograph of his screen.

However you can easily make much better electronic images of the actual display contents at any time by following the procedure in Uli's (voodoo) post at this link...

Gerard

Gerard, I understand your idea, it seems like an excellent system
to circumvent the problem with cunning.
I get to work and I'll let you know in a while

a question: is there the possibility to save a playlist in alphabetical order?

Thanks for now !!!!

gerarde

There are 3 ways to get your playlist in alphabetical order.

1. Create all your registrations first, then add records to your playlist.
I created one for oldies, going through the pages of my registrations, and just clicked on the ones I wanted.

2. You can move a record in your playlist, up or down, clicking on the arrow, on the playlist screen.

3. Look at the bottom of this post to see how to do it on your computer.

Antonio,
Did you test your procedure?  There are multiple Genos owners who had difficulty in getting the sorted .TSV file to actually load on Genos.

I posted the following to illustrate sorting of playlist using Microsoft Word instead of Excel in case there is any issues with sorting using Excel:

Thanks,

Paul,

That is what I suggested in the third option I gave him.

Gerard

Thanks, Gerard for pointing him to the right discussion thread.

The link I provided was my specific post on how to sort the playlist using Microsoft Word in that particular discussion thread - tried to save him some time not having to go through the whole thread.

Using Excel to sort the playlist.tsv file is cumbersome due to the contents of the playlists.  In some rows of the playlists, there are some 'unexpected' spaces that could add some unnecessarily long handling time.  Some Genos users also reported that they could not load the sorted .tsv file from Excel to the Genos, although I was able to sort using free WPS Spreadsheet program with success in loading the resulted .tsv file on Genos.

Using Microsoft Word to sort the playlist is a lot simpler and faster, that was why I posted the procedure for the convenience of other Genos owners.

Thanks,
Paul
