Hi guys, 3th day owning SX700 and surprised how simply looks the mixer screen comparing to older models (e.g.S770). Can´t find were to change octave for style parts (e.g. Chord1,2 etc.). Don´t want to edit each voice before use it for the part. Thanks for any advice !

There's been a separate thread on this topic this week.

It's never been possible to do this in a simple way on *any* of the S or Tyros series, or even the Genos.

Voice edit won't work. You have to edit the actual notes in the style either manually (in step edit) or via n external utility.

The mixer layout is less cluttered, but there's nothing really added or removed compared to the S770.

StyleMagicYA is the absolute easiest way to achieve this.

Yes, there are many editors to do it outside the keyboard. But I did it many times in my previous PSR S770 just turning the right virtual knob in mixing console for style parts. Mainly for backing guitar voices which were playing chords too high. It was quick and simple...

Hi Edward,
I don't have a s770 so I don't know exactly what you can do with them but changing the octave of a style part through the mixing console is something that doesn't "fit" with the way that Yamaha's keyboards work.
Of course I could be wrong,so sorry for my ignorance about this new function. :(

Is there a chance you have just change the EQ High and EQ low of the style part which can be done through the Mixing Console so it gave you the feeling that is an octave down? (but in fact the notes are still at the same octave)
We use this EQ function to reduce or increase the treble or the bass sound of a style part.
The same function probably is there somewhere in your SX700,I guess.

Hi Panos, sure, EQ for parts are simply available, but in music styles which I´m playing /eastern europe folk/ the guitar chords in accompaniment styles are dominant parts of expression. That´s why the octave of guitars backing is so important. There must be a way how to get it from instrument panel. I didn´t spent enough time with my new baby yet to treat his childhood diseases :-)
