How do I resolve the problem of stuck on logo upon switching on my Yamaha PSR S670

Hello Ernest.
If you have pedals or USB stick connected to your keyboard, disconnect those. Then try holding down the rightmost white key while powering on the keyboard. This will give a soft reset. No files will be lost, but some settings may have to be done again.

and PSR-47.
Former keyboards: PSR-S970.

Welcome to the PSR Tutorial Forum, Ernest!

Please ensure (as Toril already suggested) that nothing other than the power adapter is connected to your PSR-S670 (i.e. no cables or USB sticks). If the System Reset suggested by Toril doesn't help (holding down the highest white piano key C6 while powering on), there's probably a hardware defect (possibly a memory chip). It could also be "just" a loose internal connection.

I recommend running the S670's internal test program to narrow down the problem. You can download the instructions (PDF) for this program at the following link:
>>> Guests are not allowed to view links. In order to access the links, please Register or Login

Use either of the two methods described to start the test program and then first run test item "#002: Memory Check1 All."

If the result is OK: tests #003 to #006 can be skipped.

If the result is NG: the test stops when any problem is found. To check details, run the test from #003 to #006.

I also recommend running test items #032 - #035 (RAM/ROM Check2).

You could also try test item #038: Factory Set, but read the description before. All user data will be cleared!

Finally, use test item #039: Test Exit to exit the test program and go to normal mode.

If the test program provides any clues (one or more tests return "NG"), please post them here. However, I'm afraid the device will need to be checked by an experienced Yamaha service technician in any case.

I hope my explanations will help you. Good luck!

Best regards,
Chris

Hi Ernest,

Unfortunately, you haven't reported back here yet. Have you seen my post above and tried my tips yet?

Does the problem you described still persist?

Best regards,
Chris
