Hi I have a Genos 2. when I do a search for a registration I usually find 2 or 3 of the same name, is there a quick way of deleting the extra ones or do I have to delete them individually or is it not taking up too much space on my drive if I just leave them there.

Thanks Mike

Hi Mike,

Are they duplicates or just two different registrations? You can change the name by adding a number or symbol on the end and save it. I would check that before I start deleting things. You could also put all the your registrations on a memory and back them up in case you delete the wrong one. In any case it is easy to delete multiple registrations. Go to your registrations click on FILE and select all the registrations you want to delete. Once highlighted click delete/trash.

Hi Rick I'm new to this how do I tell if they are duplicate or different usually when I select them only one reg lights up and when I select file it only allows me to delete the registration selected and not to select further files before deleting

Thanks Mike

Deleting or renaming files from the search window is impossible.

Mike,

You can compare them and see if they are different by ear. To delete multiple registrations. Push the two registration buttons and it will bring you to your registrations. From there choose the FILE button, then you can choose as many as you want to delete. You may also want to look at the bottom left hand side of your search window and as you select different registrations it will tell
you the location. If you have a Memory Stick installed some may be on the stick and not in the USER section.

In my user area 189 pages of registrations plus a folder called Tyros5-MF which contains 183 registrations they all begin with a number
On my USB stick I also have Tyros5-MF folder which also contains 183 pages

Does this make sense

Thanks Mike

Mike,

If they all begin with a number, you shouldn't have any duplicates. The MF files are in your User Section and your USB. I would delete them from either place. You should go thru them and the ones you ise save to the USER section and delete the rest in USEr and keep them on USB in case you, you start playing a new song and need them.
I would get rid of MF from the USER section. I understand on the Genos 2 the USER section storage has been cut compared to Genos 1.
