Sharing a tutorial I made about the step edit page. It has two parts. Here is the link to the first part

Hello,

I really appreciate your videos, which are very well done.

I wanted to clarify something: Are the styles you use unlocked?

When I press certain voices in the style, for example, Chd1, it doesn't turn red but black, and a message appears: "You must delete the original data before saving. Delete?"

I should point out that I have a G2.

Thank you for your reply.

Best regards,
Christian

hello Christian,
Obviously we can only edit tracks on unlocked styles.
All preset styles are locked, but that's not a problem, because one can find software for unlocking them.

However, even if we unlock them, the message that you mentioned, will many times still appear. The reason for that is, because majority of preset styles use Chord Variations (CV) which Style Editor doesn't support.
If you wish to know more about CV, take a look at this video: Chord Variations in Yamaha keyboards.

Hello Bogdan,

Thank you so much for these explanations, which now allow me to understand why, despite the style being unlocked, some voices don't change color.

Sincerely,
Christian

Hi Christian,

Those styles were not presets. I created them. So no tracks are locked.

Hello,
These clarifications are important because they help us understand the reasons why we could modify some voices and not others.

Bogdan also provided some explanations.

What's interesting for me is being able to change the octave of certain instruments from STEP EDIT.

I confirm the quality of your videos.

Best regards,
Christian
