I want to use psr-sx920 in music composing because I really like its sounds, but after choosing sounds and effects for tracks, the data gets lost at the next time when opening cubase project.

Is there vst editor or something to save all those settings per each song / composition ?

I'm not familiar with Cubase anymore (switched to Bitwig quite a while ago), but most DAWs have components/fx e.g. to put PC (program change) or CC (control change) commands with LSB and MSB directly on a MIDI bus or in an automation track. That way you're sure that all settings you make, will be retained within the project.

You will probably need to record and save the panel setup which include effect and mixer settings and then save it as a midi file and import it in Cubase.
Check page 76 - Recording Panel Setups to a Song - in the PSR SX920/SX720 reference manual for detail instructions.

Looks like that only records panel settings to sx900's internal sequencer, but I need to save setting to Cubase project.

Youre question is not very clear. "What" do you want to save? You can litterally put everything in PC/CC/MSB/LSB MIDI commands, be it in a component (like Bitwig supports, dunno about Cubase) or put these commands in an automation track in Cubase. That would potentially save all program settings, including Fx, SysEx etc, assuming you would set the commands for that.

You can NOT make settings on your keyboard and then hope for Cubase to magically retain that in a project. It does not work that way.

After you have saved the panel settings, you will need to save the midi file and then import it to cubase.  That is how I always do in order to get all the settings automaticly in Cubase. Otherwise you will need to manualy enter the PC/CC/MSB/LSB MIDI commands and/or SYSEX data in Cubase.

For me it's a lot easier to first create the midi file in my SX-720 in multi-recording mode with all settings and then save and import to Cubase for further editing.

I want to save psr-sx900's sequencer settings ( voices for each parts, insert and send effects ) to Cubase, I guess I have to save it as sysex somehow

When you say "panel settings " do you refer to settings of the psr-sx900's sequencer ?

Is it possible to do sysex dtransfer instead of doing file saving ?

So you want to make, for example, 8 tracks in Cubase. Each of which has settings for sound and other settings. And then use a Yamaha keyboard as a sound module. It doesn't work very well. What you can do is select the instrument and send track data such as reverb and volume pan etc. but not select the effects you want. You must then have installed Midi device manager psr sx 920. Maybe if you send a sysex for reverb and chorus. You can also save as song data. I use Cubase 14. There is a program called Midiworks Ya that can work. But it doesn't work for the sx920 yet.
