I want to be able to assign two DGX-670 functions to a foot switch and/or pedal: 1. Transposition, 2. Registration change. I wonder if anyone here can think of a way of doing that. Possibly with a MIDI pedal?

I would do it as follows:
1. Store your transpositions in registrations.
2. Create a Registration Sequence to advance through your regs.
3. Assign sequence advance to a pedal.

Refer to page 63 of your Reference Manual for more details.

Thank you, Fred, that was very helpful. I understand how to use transposition with Registration changes, but I'm still wondering if transposition can be changed on the fly globally by a foot/pedal switch rather than a button push. Thoughts?

Hi @Sherif Shaalan,

I don't think this is possible with the DGX-670, because Transpose is obviously not an Assignable Pedal Function (see pages 76 - 78 in the DGX-670 Reference Manual). It is also probably not possible via an external MIDI pedal, because the only TRANSPOSE SysEx messages that can be found in the DGX-670 Data List (page 61) are only available for "Song parts and Extra parts", i.e. not for Style, Multi Pad and Keyboard parts.

Best regards,
Chris
● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

That makes sense, thank you, CHRIS! I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing something.
