SX720, MoblieSheets, 2 (different) foot pedals and Windows 11

MobileSheets is communicating with the 720, and visa versa. The registrations and sheets are working both ways. Nice. My Yamaha FC-7 pedal (pedal 1) changes registration sequence, also nice.

I want my M-Audio SP-2 (pedal 2) to turn pages in MS but I can't figure how to set it up. Any advice?

I've been in the MS settings and under Pedal > Pedal 2, nothing happens when I clear and try to 'map the action'. This is all I've attempted to do. I'm testing with a sheet that has 6 pages, so there is turning to do.

The Pedal 2 setting in my 720 is as originally shipped (fill break), should I change this (to what, nothing looks suitable)? Also, I've not changed the MIDI configuration, it's as shipped. All I've changed is assign RegSeq+ for Pedal #1.

I've swapped the pedals and the M-Audio SP-2 will change Registrations, but the FC-7 doesn't change pages. So both pedals work, it should be something to do with Midi or with Pedal 2 settings.... maybe?

Help!

p.s. I've also asked for help on the MS forum

Hi @aprilla,

Basically, pedals connected to the keyboard are not intended to be used to change pages in MobileSheets. There is no assignable pedal function on the keyboard for this. Theoretically, you could link each individual registration of a registration bank to a specific page of the relevant PDF document in MobileSheets. However, this is quite inflexible, since switching the registration usually also changes other keyboard parameters (e.g. voices/effects).

Normally, a separate so-called "page turner" pedal is used that is connected to MS. Wireless Bluetooth pedals are usually used here, which are connected to the tablet or PC. However, there are also wired, programmable USB footswitches that can be used for this purpose. The necessary settings are made both directly on the pedal and in MobileSheets.

Here are some possible pedals. Of course, you would have to check in advance whether they are compatible with your application (MobileSheets on the PC):

P.S.
I replaced "MusicSheets" by "MobileSheets" in your first post and removed your post about the incorrect app name.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris
● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Ahhhh I did not know a pedal wouldn't work, I was under the impression it would.

Previously I was using the pitch bend Joystick to turn pages and it was great, but it always turned to the last page. Seems it wasn't planned to operate this way but through a 3rd program... but it showed me that the communication is there. Anyway I mentioned I'd get a pedal and wasn't advised which, or not to. Boo!

I checked out bluetooth page turners, thanks. Now that I'm used to the feature (since the joystick) I want it, and a page turner will go in both directions. Much nicer. Eenie meenie... I'll ask at their forum first 👍

Thanks for your help (yet again!)

Chris, I've got a reply to the same plea for help from MobileSheets, and it seems a pedal isn't ideal for this purpose just as you've said. They are going to try to help through MIDI settings but since seeing the page turners I think they are a better option.

I asked them about the Joyo turner and am told it should be fine, will order it soon.

So thanks  ;D

Connect a numerical keypad to your laptop with a WiFi dongle and you have a cheap page turned.

Kind regards,

That's an idea! But I've ordered the turner so I'll see how that goes.
I was putting my computer's keyboard on my 720 so I could press the buttons for turning, not very nice. I never thought of the numerical keypad for it. Duh!!
