Heavily discounted SX700 vs new SX720

Hi there!   I'm a bit new to the SX series and looking for some buying advice (stores where I live don't stock these so I've never seen an SX in person, you have to order them).  One store where I am can order an SX700 (new) for $1500, or an SX720 (new) for $2100.  Wondering if the 720 is worth that much more?  I know the board is 5-6 years newer, and inherits some of the sounds from higher models and also has the chord looper feature, but that's a big price difference.  I've been using a PSR-EW425 for out and about and a DGX670 at home (which I think is on par with the SX600?  And I'm super happy with that), looking to upgrade the out and about (and possibly replace the DGX as well). I had a CX61 and love the FSB keybed which I understand is the same on both.

Any thoughts/recommendations from those that are way more familiar with these boards would be much appreciated!

First off I got my SX920 for less than $2100 and that was shipped to me.

He can't post a lesser price than MSRP but he sure can quote you one.

Hi friend,

SX720 is far better than SX700 and, in my opinion, it is better than the SX900 too.

I own a SX920 now. But, i was with a SX720 before for a couple of months, and my suggestion is to you go direct to the SX920 instead of the SX720. Much better sounds with super articulation2, more styles and more functions. Definetily Wort the extra $ you will pay (is not too much...).

Cheers

IMO the newer SX720 is basically an older SX900, without Vocal Harmony, and $2,100 seems high.
Shop around and consider Drake's advise

It seems high in USD. Maybe he's in Canada, where that *is* the actual price (the PSRsx920 is $2999). The price in Australia is $3499! But these are all different dollars, so that's actually correct.

Wait til you see the price variance for Lego...!

Yes I am in Canada, so the $2100 USD ($2850 CDN) Drake paid is a BIT less than what the 920SX usually sells for here ($2999 CDN).  The site he recommended has prices pretty much on par with stores here (given I'm in Canada with all the border craziness I wouldn't be ordering from the US right now anyways - can get a surprise customs/duty bill when it arrives).

My main question is whether the SX720 at $2100 CDN ($1520 USD) is worth the extra over the SX700 at $1500 CDN ($1100 USD) which seems like a smokin' deal.

Well, the sx700 at $1500 is a smokin deal, yes. But keep in mind a used sx900 (which is still better than the sx720 in some ways) would only be $200-$300 more..

But if you're asking if the sx720/sx900 is that much better than an sx700? Resoundingly yes.
1gb vs 400mb, audio styles (on the sx900/sx920), live versions of revo compatible drums (not having that on the sx700 will really hamper being able to get new styles in the future).

I've done a really long breakdown of this somewhere on here...
