Centerfield

When John Fogarty came out with the song CENTERFIELD it combined my great appreciation for his singing-songwriting with my lifelong love of the game of baseball.  So it was natural that I'd put in the time to learn how to play it.  The fingering of the intro and outro had me flummoxed for a while but eventually it came along.


A little research tells me that it was on June 22nd in 1998 that my wife  and I saw his concert in Poughkeepsie, NY.  I do remember him singing Centerfield using his famous baseball bat guitar. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1255519895221409

Usually I play the song with a rock or country-rock style but this time I've opted for a pop swing style.
