I fell in love with the voice of Karen Carpenter decades ago.  I remember how crushed I was when she died at such a young age depriving us of that voice for years to come.

The music of The Carpenters was great with perhaps the only downside being that most of Karen's songs were downers despairing of lost loves. That's why my favorite of their hits was one of the few uppers in their catalog.  TOP OF THE WORLD whether I am playing it or hearing it always makes me feel good.

In this playing of it I opt for a country swing style.  Hope it lifts you a bit too.
