No MIDI sound output on the Genos 2 using Logic Pro - No "Midi Out Port" option.

Dear all, I am desperately searching for a solution regarding the MIDI setup in Logic Pro. Let me explain: I connect my Genos 2 to my iMac, open Logic Pro, and load a MIDI file. I play it, but I only hear the sounds from Logic's library. I can't find any option in the channel strip to assign each track to the MIDI output "Keyboard 1." The audio works perfectly. Furthermore, when I record a track, it records perfectly, but when I play back the recorded track, there is no sound. It only works if I create an "external MIDI track," where I have the option in the channel strip for "MIDI Out Port" and can select "Digital Keyboard Port 1 0 2." I have installed the official driver for Mac. Can you help me with some advice? It's absurd that I have to create 16 external MIDI tracks and copy the events from the existing tracks! Thank you so much and good evening. Sorry if it's unclear. Feel free to ask questions if you need further clarification.

Hello UbiUanKenobi,

I have had issues on my Mac similar to the one you describe in your post.

It took a while but I discovered that many programs do not work right when you use Safari as your search engine.

So I switched to Chrome and everything worked fine.

This worked for me and I merely suggest you try this on your Mac.

Costs nothing to experiment

regards

Ecco la traduzione:

Sorry Ron, but I don't understand what you mean by what you said. Safari? Chrome? What do they have to do with Midi and Logic Pro on the Genos 2 forum? Sorry, I don't get it, maybe you could explain better. Anyway, Safari works great on the Mac and Chrome does too, including on Windows.. Regards"

Try running Logic in Rosetta mode as there might be compatibility issues

Hi,

Seriously guys... Rosetta? Chrome???

There are two kinds of MIDI tracks in Logic, both of which can record incoming MIDI. Of these, only the external MIDI tracks can send MIDI data to an external MIDI port, such as your Genos 2. Software instrument tracks, on the other hand, only send MIDI data to one of the many included or installed software instruments.

The default behavior when opening a MIDI file in Logic, is that a set of software instrument tracks are created (this is why you only hear Logic's own software-generated sounds). If you want to use external MIDI tracks instead, simply press Option while opening the MIDI file.
