I recently read an article that the Yamaha Genos 2 playlist could be used on the Yamaha Genos 1 if you had the Playlist and the records of the Yamaha Genos 2, well I have both the records and the playlist of the Genos 2, I have tried them on the Genos 1 but they don't work for me, could someone tell me if it is possible to use said Genos 2 record on the Genos 1, maybe I'm doing something wrong, Thanks

Playlists are universal. They shoulf work on any keyboard that has playlists.

You'll need to define what "don't work for me" means before we can help you.

Greetings Fred, I can send you the PlayListGenos2 folder privately, plus the PlaylistGenos2Reg folder, plus a pdf with instructions if you wish, so that you can try it out to see if it works for you. Sorry if the translation is not very good. Regards.

It won't work because Genos 1 can not read Genos 2 registrations.
One can do without most things, but not without the pleasure of music.

To expand on what Murray said (he's the one who created YRM, btw); you'd need to use YRM on all the registrations the convert them to Genos 1 registrations, and then tweak them for the missing sounds/style files. Yes it's a bit of an undertaking, but at least YRM will get you more than halfway there (assuming you already have the G1 conversions on hand for the needed styles -- which is a separate undertaking, but 2 of our forum members have already done a *lot* of the conversions. Xeenix and Angelo).

To be complete: Genos2 Registration Bank files are only supported by YRM version 5.4. This version is not available here on PSR Tutorial, but only on request by email directly from Murray Best.

Best regards,
Chris
● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)
