How can I permanently save an assignable button

Hi Guys,
When I assign a function to one of the A-F assignable buttons my Genos 2 does not always retain the setting when turned off and later turned on? Is there something over-riding the setting, perhaps a registration?

The reason I ask is there has been a similar previous post in 2018 but the replies were a little ambiguous.

Do I perhaps need to do some kind of a system save?

Most likely 'your' assignables are changed by pressing a button on a Registration.

Registrations are used to 'save' personal preferences (Style / Voice/ MultiPad / Tempo...) and one of the options is 'Assignable buttons'.
So, when a Registration button is pressed, it will recall all the settings that were selected when it was saved.

I use Registrations all the time. Some registration banks contain the settings for 10 songs; 1 button per song (just basic settings), other banks use all 10 buttons for just one song and in some cases I use a second bank because I need to store more settings, for like a medley...

The problem is you have one or more registrations that change your assignments. You need to hunt them down and re-memorize them telling them not to change assignments (ie, ensure the Assignment box is unchecked).

Thanks Fred,

I'll keep a check and see if I can see which one is effecting the assignments. That will be easy for the 123 buttons as the light can be either on or off. Not so easy for the A-F as they have no visible on/off light based on whether a registration has made any changes.

Your other option is to use Murray Best's YRM to identify the offending regs. You could get that done in a day at a computer.

Hi Yogi62

Lots of very good advice. In the mean time try setting up the freeze function to freeze " Assinables" and use it in the short term.
