Hello Everyone,

Does anyone use a USB 3.2 Gen 1 (in my case: SanDisk SDCZ430-064G-G46) with PSR SX920/SX720 without any issues? It appears to be working with my keyboard and the model number is listed as a compact device in the keyboard technical details. However, the technical detail also says that it is compatible only until 3.0. So, I am not sure whether it is good to use.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Best regards,

Manu

A third-party Yamaha repair technician previously mentioned to me that Yamaha's compatibility with SanDisk is quite poor. Generally, USB 3.2 Gen 1 is backward compatible with USB 2.0, so using USB 3.2 Gen 1 usually doesn't cause issues.

@Gudvi,

Your help is very much appreciated. Thank you. I am currently using USB 3.2 Gen 1 SanDisk SDCZ430 256G without any issues.

USB 3.2 Gen1 is only another name for USB 3.0. They are the same.

I used 2 SanDisk cruzer micro drives (4GB each) with my S900, one permanent and the other moving files back and forth, for 16 years. And they are still working though the keyboard has a broken screen for nearly that long. I'd say that's pretty good... the drives, not so much the S900.

Our users have encountered compatibility issues during actual use. There are no problems with reading and writing files. However, when installing expansion data, an unsupported format prompt may appear. Switching to a different brand of USB drive resolves the issue.
