Hello Ernie

I liked your personal spin on doing this song. Ernest Tubbs originally had a country hit with this song in 1947. RCA demanded that Elvis record the song in 1957 as a mini Christmas 45 rpm record.

Elvis argued with RCA not to make a recording of the song because he and Tubbs were touring together at the time. According Millie Kirkham in order to mess the recording up so bad that RCA would not release it, they made it a blues number and Millie Kirkham added in her "Woo Whos" through out the verses in the song.

Elvis told her great you do that and there is no way that RCA will release this mess.

So, what Elvis recorded as a messed up piece still turned out to be classic Christmas hit. It turned out the joke was on Elvis,
