Tyros 4 songstyle collection ..put in on HD or USB

Hi Guys

I have the collection of song styles from the OTS side of the forum and I have trimmed it down to a nerve wracking 2030 files ..Because I was using these on my older S650 arranger with very limited memory, I decided to spread the collection over 6 folders each on a USB (the S650 needs the batch to be under a folder called USER FILES)  All 6 USB drives add up to 77mb in total and I still have 232gb free on HD1    Each USB has the files alphabetically sorted on the computer so would it make sense to transfer all these to HD1 on the T4 ..would they load faster.  Would it be practical to create a set of say 10 folders and drop the sorted files equally into each. So 200 style per folder named something like A-C then D-F etc etc ..that way finding a style (because they are song title related) is simply choose the folder A-C if you are looking for Achy Breaky Heart)

Hi Chris,

You won't see any difference in load time.

The reason I would use the hard drive is simplicity. You don't have to mess around with USB sticks.

I would set up 26 folders named A-Z. Try to keep the number of files/folder below 200.

Thanks for that ..I still use usb's as I have some style collections that are already categorised so I use maybe 5 usb's as "gig disks" and as you say the load time is plenty fast enough on a USB. I bought my Tyros 4 used and found something like 92 pages of what I thought were preset styles as they had the same name as the factory presets but when you play them the intros and endings are different from the presets so I have no idea if they might be Tyros 3 presets or what???   I do prefer song styles anyway as they tend to have a "correct" intro so just by playing the intro you know the song! 

@yves I, along with others load plenty of styles on Yamaha Musicians as there is still no facility here to upload as that section on PSR tutorial hasn't changed since the takeover. We used to send our newly found styles to Joe and he would put them up for you.

Has anybody created any new style conversions to share? Has anybody submitted their converted styles via a link using this contact method here:

I don't recall anybody posting here at the forum that the Admins are not posting there converted styles. I personally have been tied up figuring out my SX920 screens. When I know how the heck to do stuff like I could on my S950 I will have some new material to share.

I have not seen Onacimus Sahayam on the forum yet. He was great at converting style sets and sharing them.
